If you really want to practice, learn to drift on WreckFest. It's not 100% accurate as you can hold the wheel to drift - but it requires GOD LEVEL pedal control. It took me 2 months to pick it up that way. But after that, pedal control - the most important part, was easy. You see, unlike real drift, you CAN'T let off the pedal AT ALL. Only staying where you are, or hitting it more. Requiring the drifter to do 1 smooth pedal press for the drift. If you get this, like the comment. If you try this out for a bit, let me know how it did for you! Good luck man! You'll be just like Takumi at your age. XD PS, this is coming from a delivery driver who had to deliver a tofu pizza last week...

@@viking_playndisplay1979 What game are you playing? I was in your position too. I started out in Horizon, on controller. Got about as good as it's possible to get on controller and bought a wheel and pedal setup, and started playing Assetto. The transition is extremely difficult - I would recommend not using 900 degree or 1080 degree steering when you're beginning. go for half that, at most. Maybe less. It's a huge leap from controller to wheel; you're basically using your entire body to do something that you could previously do just by twiddling your thumbs, it's difficult for everyone. If you're playing Assetto one tip that changed everything for me was to download a mod that changes the camera into one that's more like Horizon. It's amazing how much difference a familiar camera setup makes.

Realisticly i started drifting in NFS U2 but honestly when Forza Horizon 1 and 2 came out came out I started watching formula drift and got into drifting. Going to local drift track events, ride alongs, etc. Played Gran Turismo 6 from 2013 to online shutdown. I have played AC with mods which is the best 👌 I've played Car x drifting and plenty of others. I've always been on controller and been able to tandem on games greatly. If only AC would come out with a drifting game on console but similar to mods in some kind of way. I've messed around with PC so much in the past that it has burned me out modding drift games. The past 4 years I have been sticking to console for ease of access and the simple part of it. Gran Turismo 7 is my next go to. Love your videos and keep doing what your doing!

I think it's cool to master a driving mechanic in a game, kind of like how people can speed run games. It's a skill I would like to have, but I don't have the patience for it. The one thing I can't get past, is how a lot of "sim drifters" only learn this skill in third person, it makes it super easy to master. I find it harder to have the first person cockpit view and actually drift pretty good. Only seen a few KZbinrs do it.
