A family's security camera has captured the wholesome moment a three-year-old girl comforted her mom when she found out her mother was adopted. In the sweet footage, Ella Fauver, aged three, can be seen chatting to her mom, Emily, 30, in their Warrensburg, Missouri, home, when Ella asks Emily who her mom is. At that point, Emily breaks the news to her daughter that she was adopted, explaining, "because my mommy didn't want me." Ella, noticing the sadness in her mom's voice, replies, "Aww," before affirming, "I want you." The response overwhelmed Emily, who then got down to her daughter's level and gave her a big hug. According to Emily, she was taken from her biological parents when she was one and a half years old because her parents struggled with addiction. After being placed in three different foster homes, Emily was then adopted at the age of eight. She knew that one day she would have to explain her family dynamic to her daughter, but Emily did not expect that moment to come when Ella was so young - or with such a loving response.

@conchuir5695 I'm a mental health expert, and I can not tell you how many children I've had to work with who came from such backgrounds. Moms not knowing where to draw a line with their child as regards disclosing information about their childhood and current trauma. Forcing their child to grow up faster than necessary, develop personality issues, always trying to make everyone around them feel better at the expense of their well-being. I promise you, a 3year old should never have to comfort a grown woman regarding her childhood trauma or anything else for that matter.

i do wonder if her adoption was a closed adoption. My twin cousins are adopted and their mother was victim of a rape & got pregnant with both of them. She didnt want to have an abortion but she also wasnt ready to be a mom (she was barely 15). So she gave both of them up to a couple (my aunt & uncle) that wanted both of them. Its not that they werent wanted, its their mom wanted them to have better than she could give them. they did eventually meet her once they were of age & they still have contact; but they still call my aunt & uncle, mom & dad and their biological mom by her name. I wasnt there at visits, but i do remember them saying that she cried a lot seeing that they were okay; that it was the hardest thing she'd ever done to let them go. But she knew she made best choice after seeing how well they turned out. One is a nurse and another is in school to be speech therapist

I just wish she’d said “my mommy couldn’t take care of me” or something. I understand the honesty, but a 3 year old hears that, and they wonder what they could do to make mommy not want them. Or another kid tells them they’re adopted, and they innocently ask the kid why didn’t you mommy want you?
@heoniebee9566
@heoniebee9566 5 ай бұрын
@@SinginginDyeah, I kinda see that and "that's exactly why I had you" as red flags, tbh. You shouldn't have a child just to fill some kinda hole in yourself or to fix your life. It doesn't work and that's a LOT to put on a child. They're a brand new, vulnerable person - their existence shouldn't be about your trauma & that's likely to backlash on the kid's own psyche. Not to mention affect and possibly damage their relationship when the child grows up.
@SinginginD
@SinginginD 5 ай бұрын
@@heoniebee9566 exactly. I do believe we need to be gentle with parents, especially those of us who have survived trauma. And I think it’s also important to see where we can tweak our loving parenting to do the best we can for our own babies!

@SinginginD couldn't agree more! I see alot off people applauding her "honesty". As a clinical psychologist I cringed when she said that. It's quite toxic. It's too much to burden a 3 year old with. That's a conversation she should have with her friends, partner and a therapist and get validation from those relationships. Validation from a 3 year old?? nah!

Of course you are wanted and loved. Your biological mother giving you up has absolutely nothing to do with your self worth. Idk her reasons, they could've been to give you a better life than she would be able to provide, emotionally and financially...or not. It hurts regardless, I understand that. But God gave you children that you obviously raised with lots of love. And you're reaping the rewards and they're worth more than money could ever buy. What awesome sons you have. :)

They're children. You shouldn't treat them as though they're stupid, and you should help them learn by staying at a level that's graspable with effort. Here, as sweet as it is to hear her daughter say she wants her, this toddler was just introduced to the developmentally-inappropriate concept that some mommies don't want their children and give them away instead. This is the sort of thing that, the night after the next time you discipline them, you'll be walking out of their room after putting them to bed and hear, "Are you going to give me away to a different mommy?" (You're also liable to hear them ask a peer they discover is adopted why their mommy didn't want them.) A _lot_ of parents have seen this after (innocently) telling their children something like, "Don't worry. It didn't hurt. Grandpa just fell asleep and never woke up." Days later, as their child is falling asleep at the table (again), they ask why they're so sleepy and find out that their child has been scared to fall asleep at night, "In case I don't wake up, like Grandpa!"

@@a.r.m.y.chinghu926 I’m not saying make your child watch cartel videos or anything here lol. Just talk to them like people and not like a dog dumbing down words all of the time. I have a 5 year old that does 200 piece puzzles by herself and picked up how to ride a bike with no training wheels within a week. She’s well aware of how to use certain words. They’re curious and sort of like a sponge when it comes to things said around them. So I’m not saying be brutally honest 24/7 but don’t shy away from telling them things when they ask about it. Doesn’t do them any good and if you don’t straighten out the answers to questions that they ask, they’ll find their answer somewhere else. As someone who has given a baby up for adoption, please don’t assume the mom “didn’t want the baby”. I won’t speak for this woman’s experience because she may know things I don’t, but I know for me, I desperately wanted that baby. I fell in love with him the moment he was born just like I did all the children I had later in life. I felt a hole in my soul when I left without him, when I didn’t bring him home with me. When I say I cried for over a year straight, I’m not exaggerating. But I was also 15. I couldn’t give him the life he deserved. I got to pick his new family and they are the most amazing parents still to this day (open adoption is a blessing), I got to see him grow up and all the opportunities he got that I could never have given him. I cried every time I left, because I loved him, and yes I was happy for him and his parents who absolutely adored and wanted him, but I wanted him too and it hurt my soul that I felt I lost him over and over again. Those who say “if you didn’t want a child, you should have aborted,” are not seeing the full picture. Abortions are a choice, birth is a choice, adoption is a choice. We want people to have choices because one option doesn’t work for everyone all the time in all situations.

And all the comments I saw here nurture those feelings that are gonna feel so much harder when they do the opposite. Just know that it's a part of development and do your best never to take it too personally. They don't know how it feels on the other end. Friends, Please listen: ❤️ GOD of the universe has been there with you, known every aspect of your soul and mind before you were born: all your hairs are numbered; all tears kept; sadnesses remembered, memories since birth and childhood: even today He waits for you to open the door of your Heart, that you will accept His Generous Gift of Salvation! The Son is eternal and uncreated, He Became Incarnate and Came to earth with a single Purpose: The Mighty Plan of Salvation for all mankind who listens and accepts. The LORD Jesus paid the penalty for your sins and mine on the Cross *(Matthew 27)* 2023 years ago, Resurrecting on the 3rd day *(Matthew 28)* to show you that by the same Power will His Loving and Committed followers inherit Heaven on Earth and of course for eternity by His Grace and Mercy. He was seen! That is what we call Salvation from the torment of hell (which is eternal damnation, and worse: complete separation from The Holy LORD. Those who keep on ignoring Him hate Him, and at least as of now don't want anything to do with The LORD-they are dead now and will remain dead in hell). We *deserve* punishment for our sinful dirty nature, but The Lord YAHWEH is Forgiveness Himself: He washes His followers with Holy Blood through Christ Jesus, caressing us with undeserved Mercy that we may become His children. 😊 Therefore Repent and Believe, you, and receive The Spirit of Truth Who will Dwell in you and Be always within you! • Jeremiah 1:5 _"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart (...)."_ • Matthew 10:29-31 _"Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My Voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with Me."_ • John 11:25-26 _"Jesus says: I am The Resurrection and The Life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die. Thank you. I’m adopted too and I hated how this mother unjustly maligned her biological mother to her child. It’s far more likely that she couldn’t take care of her or wasn’t allowed to. Now the child has an image of anyone who gives up a child as being in the wrong. I’d hate to be an adoptive parent of a child in the daughter’s class, as she might unwittingly say something unkind at any time.

I know a little boy who was adopted at birth, same situation, his parents both couldn’t mentally handle children, I didn’t know too much more other than that but it ended up perfect because the little boy not only looks just like his adoptive parents, but his adoptive parents had been trying for a baby for many years and they just couldn’t get pregnant so They raised him so well and then all of a sudden, his birth parents got pregnant again! And they were able to adopt that little baby as well, a baby girl. So now he has a full blood sister and although I feel for the woman who can’t care for her babies, I’m happy they ended up with the perfect people.

It’s crazy how the mom wasn’t upset or sad about telling her daughter that her mom didn’t want her. But the little girl had the emotional intelligence to a) see that a mother giving up her child can hurt the child. And b) impose herself as a solution to her mother’s pain. It’s not like we were abandoned. They gave us up because they wanted better for us. Keeping the baby would be the selfish thing to do, if the mother isn’t ready/doesn’t desire to be a mom. Exactly, I always hear adopted kids say that. But people choose adoption because they can’t care for a kid, rather than simply not wanting it. Abortion has been legal since the 70s, so most adult adoptees now are old enough that their mother did have a choice, and chose adoption. Any choice is valid. Just saying a woman wouldn’t go through the pain of childbirth over a kid they didn’t want.

They’re untouchable. At the minute I’m having massive problems with them with my Dad. I’m putting in a complaint. He’s in so much pain? He’s on 4 packs of medication. I had to call the emergency help line last week. He came out with all his tablets. When I saw one of them I knew immediately why he was in pain. Codeine Phosphate has stopped him going to the toilet. He’s lost a stone, he can’t eat. He’s been to the Drs 8 times in 3 weeks, A&E twice and sat for 9 hours. Tomorrow he gets an endoscopy. It’s absolutely disgusting. I went to the chemist next to his Drs as I know what to get him. They wouldn’t give me anything. They keep telling him to go to A&E. Nothing more they can do. I knew the tablets he’s on affect the body. I still believe he doesn’t need the heart tablets. He’s got a pace maker. My Mam ended up in hospital due to the same tablets my Dad was told to stop taking. She was on 30 tablets out of her 13 boxes a day + morphine. High levels of morphine were found in her blood. She died suddenly. There was an inquest. Pathologist said he couldn’t find anything, reports came back 3 times as inconclusive. They wanted the whole case closed do they wrote unknown death on her certificate. Just to get a piece of paper. They know, they all know why she died. And all those tablets poisoned her body. They never did a full autopsy. A 71 year old lady just doesn’t suddenly die. I’m wanting to open a case and get justice for my Mam. It took my Mothers death for me to really wake up. From the second I saw her lifeless body on the floor I started to inspect her. I said that evening. ‘They have missed something, something isn’t right here.’ She would have wanted me to investigate. When I saw inside of her mouth it was weird, it was like black mould. The paramedics or pathologist would have pumped her stomach out. I bet there was signs of adjuvants in her gut. Apparently blood came up out of her gut when she was moved from her chair. I am not having unknown when I know, and they know. You will never find a death certificate with. Vaccine reaction on . Or anything to do with the medical system.

I worked in a few pediatrics units and did rotations in daycare centers when I was in nursing school. All under 7, damn near ALL of them were empathetic and understood that I was a nurse and wanted to help people. They told me they liked me and wanted to help people too. When they asked about my mommy and daddy and when I told them my daddy was hurt and he can’t walk too well, they made a sad face and gave me a big hug. They actually said, “I’m sorry,” and I swear I teared up every time. These experts don’t give kids enough credit. They’re way smarter than they give them credit for.

I have so much respect for this mom because of how she starts to say "That's just the way..." but then changes her mind and decides to explain it to her child in the best way for her to understand. And we see what a beautiful outcome there was when that effort was made. Answering questions, especially tough ones like this, is so important
