3-Year-Old Girl Puts Boy in Headlock After He Proposes To Her

Kynlee McFetridge, 3, put a boy in a wrestling headlock at preschool after he proposed to her. Her mom questioned Kynlee and recorded her responses and sent the video to the Fox 2 Facebook page. Kynlee’s wrestling moves go back to an open-heart surgery she had when she was 5 months old to correct heart defects known as the Trilogy of Fallot. Physically, she fell behind kids her age. Once she was well enough, wrestling with daddy became a favorite way to engage.
“That was my whole theory behind wrestling and roughhousing with her because she was behind the other kids,” he dad said. “I was trying to make her stronger so she could catch up. In doing so, she got a little rough, I guess.”
She has also learned not to resolve conflicts with headlocks.

My grandfather used to rough house with me, and it's one of the reasons why I was able to take down a child rapist-murderer when I was 7ish. I remember thinking that he didn't know who he was messing with! I tore him up enough that there was enough blood evidence to link him to a previous victim who looked like me. He was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. My mother also told me somewhat often to hit, kick, bite, and do whatever else I needed to do to get away from someone who was taking me somewhere I didn't want to go and that she would back me up 100%. I suggest this approach to everyone.

I just made it difficult for him to hold me and made everyone look at him. Such people are cowards, looking for easy prey. But there was an 8-year-old girl I heard about who got out of a _moving car_ when she was kidnapped when it slowed down for a turn. It helps to never give up.

Sorry, but it seems to me that her parents are promoting her use of violence in the classroom. They wrestle with her at home and make fun of her use of violence. This will encourage her to use it often for attention. Sorry, but a cute little boy should not be hurt just because he asks a cute question regarding marriage. I'm very sorry if this comment offends anyone; it's just that I am a teacher, and often have to deal with parents who think behaviour like this is ok. However, it often leads to injuries and lawsuits.

One, no child should ever be taught that physically harming someone else because they didn't like something they said is in any way normal, or functional, behavior. Two, giving this kid all this extreme attention for doing that, is going to backfire. Three, this video is 4 years old...I saw a later video of this same little girl that her mom posted on YT when she was a year or two older, angrily threatening her mother with a "knuckle sandwich," and then ultimately punching at the phone (or her mom, not really sure). NOTHING about that is "cute." Good luck dealing with her at 15, mom and dad.
