The chain brake is engaged, which is why the saw isn't working. To disengage the chain brake, press it towards the chain. This brake is a safety mechanism designed to stop the chain from spinning in case the saw accidentally kicks back.

It easy to fix the oil leaking store it with the oil cap up or put a oring on it fixed it no good to complain why do some people always point out the bad things not the good things just think if you had to cut up your wood with an axe now you would have something to complain about ..

Dude payed for a chainsaw not an axe. Every review I have seen on this saw mentions the leaky bar oil. Instead of being a contrarian you could just agree that DeWalt should fix the design flaw. Or you could just keep being a c@nt.
@happyamerican32359 ай бұрын
Agreed. Just don’t store it with oil in it. How simple. You probably shouldn’t store it with the battery in it either. If it doesn’t run it probably needs a new switch or motor so go get one. Especially if the thing looks brand new. Heck take it to the pawn shop before you throw it away. Some guys know how to fix stuff instead of dropping 1K on another saw.

And at 2:00 in he started complaining about it being “too light” and not cutting firewood like a 20” gas saw. I’m looking at buying this saw as a step up from my reciprocating saw (saws all) and so I don’t have to always haul around a gas can, etc. I already have a bunch of black and yellow batteries/tools in my work truck and think this might be the answer. I’m not expecting to cut truckloads of firewood with it (I already have a gas saw collection for that) just the occasional fence post, deck demo and tree limb on the job site. Then he also complains about it being rear balanced when he hangs onto the crossbar, this is a “top handle” saw. They usually are weight centered near/under the actual operating (rear) grip for one handed “up in a tree” work, not the crossbar. Plus, how hard is it to empty the bar oil before putting it away for the day, what can you expect from a

Well worth the money for me, but i only use it occassionaly at work to remove trees growing up through graves, or down my allotment for general wood cutting and logs for my log burner

I got one rn, a nice Stihl in the garage with a puddle around it as i type this. *shrug* My dad has a few as well, expensive and cheap... they all leak bar oil.

Well, I am having the same problem. Relatively little use and now it is dead. Is it worth spending money on it? I don't think so and DeWalt does not warranty a saw that is 2 years old. Handy when it works in my suburban setting. Thanks for enforcing my suspicion.
@jameskrivitsky9715 Жыл бұрын
Would you share with us viewers when your saw was made and if it is a type 1, 2 or type 3 ? The build date is stamped on the bottom of the yellow case and the TYPE is in small print on the top decal of the motor. I originally bought a DCCS620 type 2 mfg 2020 28-58. It died on me likely due to heat. It gets over 100 degrees air temp in Houston summers which could be the cause for the circuit board to fail. I just bought a replacement TYPE 3 MFG. 2022 39 H5 and will see if DeWalt has remedied the electronics issue.

I had exact same problem with the saw just clicking and not starting. Then it wouldn't even do that. I went to trouble taking it apart, cleaned 3 years worth of gunk out but that didn't fix the problem and I don't have an electric tester. My guess is the motor is bad. Going in the trash now but was great while it lasted despite the oil leak issues.

@@77bubba00 There's no "care" you can do to a chainsaw that'll make a used bar look unused, it's like a circular saw blade, if it's used, the graphics will rub off. I don't think this guy's lying, the leaks are common, but that saw looks to have never cut anything more than 2-3 twigs in its life, which makes the dead motor even worse if that's true.
