3 Years With The Leica M10

I want to share with you my thoughts on the Leica M10 three years after owning it. I have this camera for a little longer than all of my cameras except one, the Canon 5d Classic. The Leica M10 has stretched me beyond what I thought it would. I love shooting with it and I simply think if you get your hands on one you would love it too.

I appreciate your review. I think this is a great way to look at photography in general. I like your belief of allowing cameras to slow you down, think about why you are where you are, and really understand what you would like to get from the picture you’re taking. I have a good number of cameras. My daily camera is a Leica D Lux 7. I have cameras with much better autofocus and higher resolution. I like this camera so much more than everything else I have because it allows me to create art out of everyday life, but it also forces me to be intentional because of its limitations. I do not want to move all the way into manual focus, but I also did not enjoy capturing life with my Sony cameras because I didn’t feel like a artist, I felt like a person operating tech.

Love my m10p. Got it a few months ago and had to learn to make sure to protect the highlights and not get tricked with the metering system. Love the images that I get…when I get it right! Saw a few of your videos prior to get the m10! Happy to see you still have love the the m10. Great video

Great to hear! I think we as photographers switch from camera to camera so often that’s it’s really hard to really get to know if a camera is truly a fit. Glad you are enjoying your M10P

I love your illustrations about the camera and the concept of the art of paying attention during shooting. I love it. The only challenge is the price of Leica is just extremely high....

Thanks for a great video Tim. You are exactly right about your reasons for loving your camera. I have the similar experience after two years with mine. My pictures are getting better, and I play and experiment with it too. It's just an amazing creative tool and companion ;-)

Its same with my m262. Totally enough camera for me. M10 is nice but not a must. Both have 24mpx sensor
