Awesome update vic! I see they put on quite the size since the last ! I think you still got room for a nice african arowana in there. Also its been bugging me but….. why no bichirs?😅 hands down u have one of the best collections of fresh water fish ive seen

Yes, especially in girth. ... Must always have a room for an African aro :) which sadly is lacking in our collection. ... It's a matter of taste. Certain fish like bichirs, rays, puffers, etc. are of the lowest priority and interest to me. ... Thank you for the kind words.

@@Fish-Story Completely agree with bichirs being of lowest priority and interest, and although I like pufferfish looks and wet pet behavior, I don't think they are worth their feeding time/cohabitation difficulties. But a certain surprise I have for you in the near future will very likely make your interest in stingrays skyrocket (although I don't necessarily mean interest as aquarium fish). You'll see what I'm talking about when the surprise is prepared:) Can't wait to show it to you:)

I would love a group of fire eel to go with my big tire track. I have to say vic I do like those two big black goldfish. I’ve never had goldfish in my tanks I thought they deserved a mention :)

How big do these catfish get Vic?

Planet Catfish lists their max at over 4ft.

@@Fish-Story kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKaucqWYp9eKo68 As you surely remember, this barbado was bigger than any other that Jeremy caught, and bigger than those elsewhere, but it is clearly nowhere near 4ft/120cm. I can't help but think this is one of the instances Planet Catfish is way off (ie: like when they list jelly catfish size as 48cm). I am getting more and more excited though for your 3 to grow as big as Jeremy's someday:)

Looks about 3ft eyeballing. PCF goes by scientifically proven sizes, same as FishBase. No unproven numbers are accepted.

@@Fish-Story Thank you for the clarification, that is good practice on their part. I find the idea of a 4ft/120cm barbado very intriguing:) There has always been some kind of server related barrier to my attempts at actually registering for Planet Catfish, so I can't actually ask on there, but I had better get searching to see if anyone on there has shared the source for that:)

Catfish use barbels to sense objects and taste in water.

@ oh I know I’m just saying the longer whiskers on the Pictish catfish are very sharp barb like and have stuck my other fish 🐠
@Fish-Story17 күн бұрын
I think you must be referring to their sharp spines - the leading rays in the pec fin and dorsal fin. Barbels/whiskers cannot stick anything.
