He didn’t include places that have programs for the homeless. high basic needs cost / wages + no programs to help the homeless = bad place to be homeless. Permanent homeless is equivalent to the five stages of death: Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, and finally Acceptance. Once Acceptance is reached, this is their life, they will adapt, some thrive, they learn how to live homeless, where to get food, where medical services are available, share resources with friends, just like a prisoner becomes institutionalized, homeless will adapt to their situation.

I have great compassion for homeless people, I find it difficult to understand how we can afford to help other countries when we have masses of homeless people, I have a personal connection, I have a son whom I haven’t seen in ten years, who has chosen to be homeless, I am a retired Elementary teacher, and he refuses to even accept money to get on his feet, get a job, visit us at home…It is his decision to be homeless, he doesn’t even have a phone, I think drugs are involved…

It's hard to believe but a lot of the people choose to be homeless. They don't want to work or have someone tell them what to do. They learn to get by on very little and do just fine. I don't feel sorry for the homeless that are addicted to drugs or alcohol, that is a choice that they made and most don't want to change. The biggest majority of homeless people wouldn't take a job to help themselves if you offered it to them. The ones that are homeless because of sickness, age or are disabled I do feel sorry for. I'm not heartless but I believe in helping yourself, and if you are not willing to help yourself then you shouldn't expect other people to do it for you. Now all of that aside the money our government is spending on illegals, who are bringing in more drugs and crime, and sending to other countries would go a long ways on fixing the homeless problems. They can't keep taxing us to take care of other people's problems or we will become homeless and hungry ourselves.

@@ml12street70I have to disagree. I recently became homeless and I have been with a consistent job since 2016. Sometimes the cost of living just doesn’t match up with what you are offered pay wise. Luckily i can afford rooms until I get another place. And from what I’ve seen of those on the street that are on drugs. Majority aren’t willingly homeless but are suffering from mental illness to which there are no services to help all of them. The drugs are usually taken to quell the voices in their head. Does it work? That’s debatable but overall I disagree that most homeless are in that situation due to laziness. It’s easier to get up and work (if you can) then to survive on the street especially if it’s a 4 season city you live in

I think most of the problem is a combination of politics, corruption and greed. People become discuraged and too many end up on drugs or alcohol. I have lived in several of the cities you mentioned many years ago and life and attitudes were much different. People felt like life was good and life was affordable.

I was born and resided most of my life in Suffolk County Long Island. It amazes me how many people have no clue where Suffolk is and refer to is as NYC. In the 80 miles west to east in Suffolk there are about 1.5 million people. More than most of the areas you mentioned here. Homelessness is less than 4000. Unsheltered is about 50. Yes 50. The rest are giving shelter and put in programs to guide them to move on productivity. If this vid is accurate, it proves the lack of concern many have for fellow man.

Asylums were shut down in the Regan 80's, tiny house villages, then onto public housing ? More Social Services workers hired as resource personnel on all sites ? I live in Colorado Springs and don't go to Denver. I hear that it is getting really bad and I hated the traffic there anyway so I stay away. Now they have a lot of illegals and that doesn't help. They have started bussing some down to us and we are not a sanctuary city so I'm hoping our mayor will bus them back. Everyone homeless are not drug addicts. Many of homeless people draw social security and disability and on the government waiting list for housing. And their are others that have a 30 year work history but have not reached retirement age. Some homeless people work but the hours not enough to pay rent. Since around 2008 stuff started happening and not for the better. Let's have a heart. And there's more to come.

Born and raised in Texas, but I currently live in Utah the last 6 years and did go to school in Idaho. I also at one point almost lived in Denver. I personally think that you’re gonna love it here in Utah. Crime rates here are one of the lowest in the country, the outdoor activities here are endless regardless of the season, and tornadoes are extremely rare here. This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a perfect state, like any state It has its issues like everywhere else. The biggest challenges you may notice here is it gets really cold in the winter and the high altitude if you’re not used to it.

Denver is not really like you describe it, not really at all. I worked in downtown Denver most of 2023, and at various places-I was in many locations. There was no homeless 'camp' at Mile High Stadium, just two tents and those went away after a couple of weeks. No camp at Ball Arena. No camp at Tivoli Quad. I can drive a good ways down Colfax and see no camps. You have to get into the nitty gritty to see homeless tents and poop in the streets, it's just wildly exaggerated. There are too many people and not enough housing, and the apartments that exist are $1600/month for the trashiest one, and there is no way to afford that and everything else for many people; so they have to live in the street. Politics IS the reason it's like this. Many can't rent an apartment because they can't pass a credit check; I have NO credit record and my applications get denied. So then you are living with no address, and applying for benefits with no address and no reliable way of communicating is not so easy. Do not badmouth the homeless of Denver, you have no idea.

I'm a 68 year old disabled senior citizen living on less than a 1000.00 a month ss, I applied for tax exempt status, and was awarded it so I was told but I still receive a tax bill for 200.00 a year on a 40 year old trailer that's in bad shape, roof leaks, black mold, bad electrical, ceiling falling in, but it's a shelter out of the cold. I'm behind in taxes, just can't pay em don't have the money, so now I'm waiting to be put out, because I got a letter saying it is as being advertised for sale cause the tax bill had to be settled. My lot rent is 450.00 a month and that doesn't include water!!! I'm tired of worrying about what I'm going to do. Please if anyone who sees this would just say a little prayer for this old lady, I would surely appreciate it. I don't want to be homeless and I don't know what to do. I don't have anyone to help me. Thanks for the educational video! I am fortunate to have lived in the Midwest all my life. There's plenty of work here for those that want it. There are some homeless that set up camps in the woods. When a reporter went to talk with them they stated that they just want people to leave them alone. I remember when I was 16 I was filling up my jalopy when an old man came up to me and asked for money. He said he ran out of gas in his truck and needed to get bome. I gave him a $10 which is all I had on me. Back then $10 got you 10 gallohs.. He went straight inside and bought cigarettes. You just don't know who really needs the help sometimes.

They live and work on the farm, with drug councilors helping them to get clean. The stays there could be a year, or more. I have lived in Denver for almost 20 years and I can tell you that you are completely wrong. People don't poop in the street. The only homeless are in a small part of downtown by the capital, because that is the only place we let them exist. If they set up a tent anywhere else either the police move them or locals from the area come equipped with guns and beat them up, trash their tent, and take their gun(because homeless people should not have guns). This all happens within a few hours of them setting up the tent. Most of Denver is very beautiful, just stay away from Capitol Hill.

I work out of our office in the Miami area and I'm in Kansas City and Oklahoma City all the time with our properties there. This guy is completely lying when he talks about these cities. Thankfully now is in a detox unit, but I can tell you first hand there are very few D&A treatment beds available for people seeking treatment in Phila & then for those that are able to get into treatment upon discharge there is no where for them to go so they go back on the streets…it’s a vicious cycle. The fentanyl & Tranq drug problem in Kensington, and really throughout the entire US, is outta control!!! We have Americans dying by the 10s of thousands from the drugs being smuggled in & having the borders open just makes it so much easier for the drugs to get in. Don’t some people stop to think…why are all the drugs that are coming over the border from cheap, highly addictive & literally cause open bodily wounds if used…it’s because other countries are trying to kill us! We need to stop focusing on ensuring illegal immigrants have free food, housing, credit cards,etc & instead focus on what we need to do for the American people that need help and assistance, especially our veterans! The men and women that fought to ensure our safety & freedom go hungry & live on the streets…I just can’t wrap my head around how people can stand up and fight for illegal immigrants but not our veterans! It is because of service members that we can voice our opinions and sleep soundly at night! Charity starts at home!!!

Yeah Fresno does have a homeless problem like almost no other. It's still California though, and you still get friendly Californians who will be hospitable to you. You will still be welcomed no matter what race, or gender you are, and nobody judges your sexual orientation. Fresno is infinitely better than a lot of southern cities like Jackson, Birmingham, Raleigh, Charlotte, Memphis, or Baton Rouge where the people there are blatantly racist, rude, and filled with criminals. Fresno may be bad by California standards, but it's still above a lot of southern cities not counting Florida or Texas. That should show you the quality of California people. Everybody needs to stop spreading lies about California being bad when their worst city is better than their best cities.

My opinion is your video was totally awesome and informative.thank you for elaborating the fact that every person's story/reason for being homeless is different,as well as different regions vary as well.Its a shame that needs correction.The fact that USA has planeloads if money for iran and ukraine,endless and constant frivolous lawsuits and a toilet seat at the country club,but we have all of these mental health agendas, drugs, intentional prison repeat recidivism for prisons and super crooked politicians and justice system and countless vacant properties as far as the eye can see, yet we have allowed this to continue and grow.some of the homeless are just lazy,but there are plenty out there that just fell down and ran out of options and just need a bit of encouragement, realignment and a hand up or slight lucky break to get back up.Some downtrodden folks are the kindest and definitely realest and genuinely honest people you would ever wanna meet.But yeah thanks for the vid it was really enjoyable and relavant.thanks.❤

In 2021, most were Mexicans. They needed clothes. They were working but had few clothes. Have you seen them living in hotels? There are so many hotels in Cary. One very near the Library.

I am homeless in las vegas. They make it hard by the restrictions like health card tam or sheriffs card. You want to work at Walmart you need 2 out of 3. Its insane. So many empty casinos and yet the city cant turn then into shelters. Im a woman who cant even get into domestic violence shelters cause they are so full

My city in Texas (Corpus Christi) also has a homeless population. I've seen people here in my city beg the public for money on local streets, freeways, and outside buildings like fast- food restaurants and convenience stores. Those who struggle getting jobs need to turn themselves around by working decent jobs or getting enough help from the government or both. They can also turn to some local churches for help in getting clothes, food and drink (except alcohol), haircuts, toiletries, and even taking showers. One of my local churches has that type of service for them. They can also help them find jobs.

Las Vegas has about 7,000 homeless teenagers. They have a huge building for homeless to go to for clothes. The city moved them away from the freeway, so tourists don't see them. About 20 years ago the city dumped a lot of mentally ill people on the street and chased people living in their cars off of the area where the homeless were. There are organizations, like 150, and churches, that help the homeless and gave them extra clothes. Also, several churches provide grade schools with extra lunches in a bag on Fridays for children living in a hardship family. There is an organization that rents a room in a complex which provides help with reading, math, etc. for children after school.

One reason many cities have a homeless problem is mild weather. Also if homeless were not spending their money on drugs rather than a place to live is no reason society should bow down to them. One of the Dallas tv stations found a homeless camp and interview many of them. One they found has a masters degree. They ask why are you homeless? He said, I just stand to punch someone's time clock. Hard to feel sorry for him.

My camps were about a quarter mile away from any house and would last 4 or 5 years before I was noticed then the police would show up and I would be removed usually at the onset of winter, being homeless or living in a tent is harder than farm work especially if you also do farm work,

lol I live in Jacksonville, and it’s not that bad as it was 10 years ago. When I would go to work in downtown town homeless people would use the restrooms at my work. At this point on I haven’t seen any homeless people except the same one. It’s like they took them to a place for shelter.
