About opinion 16; Yes technically you are right Nintendo does make better levels than what the players make in Mario Maker but I feel this is an unfair comparison. Nintendo has access to all the tools for making the game as they see fit, they can create assets, design the story if they want 1, and have full control over how the game is played. Meanwhile Super Mario Maker players are limited to what the game let's us use. Yes there are some amazing levels out there that people spent ages making but they still are limited to the realms of what the game allows. A better comparison would be all the rom hacks people have made, seriously some of the stuff out there is jaw-dropping.

I totally share your 1st Opinion. I played SM64 for the first time on the 3D All Stars Collection and really didnt have a fun time. I stopped playing the game at the first snow level cause of the awful controls and like you mentioned the camera...

Some of these weren’t controversial as their actually pretty popular. Like the 30th opinion and the Mario and sonic Olympic Games opinion (to my experience at least). Also, wow I disagreed with a lot here. Especially the MKWii opinion. It’s my favorite game in the franchise. I respect your opinion though. Finally, here’s my own controversial opinion: Mario DOES have a personality. Especially in the rpg games. It’s not a huge or unique personality unlike a along the lines of Luigi’s or Bowser Jr’s, but it’s definitely there. Another one (this is a long one): I think Mario golf: super rush (or as I like to call it, Mario golf: super rushED) is a worse game than Mario strikers battle league. At least battle league had decently fun gameplay and slight personality. Mario golf super rush on the other hand, has mediocre gameplay that completely takes away from the skill it took to pull off a great shot in previous entries along with many other helpful gameplay tools and mechanics, next to no personality what so ever, and very bland maps (not as bland as battle leagues “maps” to be fair though). Also, while it does give you more content that battle league, the content it does give is shit for the most part.

i 100% agree with you on 30. i never really cared for the story of mario games; only the gameplay. the plot is almost nonexistent in most mario platformers, anyway (even the 3d ones).

Hot takes: 1. New super Mario bros 2 is a lot more original than many people give it credit for. 2. I actually like Mario party star rush 3. Super paper Mario is an alright game I liked the story but I dislike it's gameplay.

@@Tricky_Nick also I won't lie when I say that I agree with most of your hot takes. Also I think that while star rush is good (in my opinion) it's also the worst of the good Mario party games and you can say that I am biased because star rush was actually my first Mario party game.but I was just having a good time playing it I just can't hate the game it's an 7.5/10. Meanwhile new super Mario bros 2 has the least amount of innovation but the minor things in this game gives it an identity for example the coin gimmick so in my opinion is pretty good because it's the only new super Mario bros game that Wants you to play the game different though the side effects is that getting lives is now too easy and getting the maximum amount of coins rewards is bad though I prefer that over a game not acknowledging me at all when I 100 it. anyways this is the only game in the new super Mario bros series to ditch the 8 world themes instead it's 6 world and 3 item name worlds also I am happy that the cannon level are no longer warps instead it's an auto runner section which I am sure that Mario run took inspiration from. And the Beach and jungle themes are combined that's original also that tomber level is new though sometimes this game is definitely unoriginal because sometimes it's feels like a 3ds port of new super Mario bros Wii I wish this game was more original but as for now it's a pretty good game easy 7.5/10. I just have one question: Have you ever tried Super Mario 64 Ds mini-games? They are really fun! I had a lot of fun playing these mini-games during my childhood! About your point about Waluigi, if Waluigi would have his own video game, he could develop Waluigi into video game!

I think your only "bad take" is the one on Waluigi in Smash. What you're arguing is irrelevant since there are a multitude of characters with made up movesets that they haven't done in their base series (most of Captain Falcon's or the Koopa Clown Car's moves for example). And even with the characters that do have things from their series, they can often have different functions than what they had in the games they came from (like Rosalina's or the Villager's moves) or characters are given things they canonically cannot do in the series (like Daisy being given Peach's floating ability only because she's Peach's Echo Fighter). Waluigi very well could have a made up moveset and it would be completely fine and fit in.

Another example I could give about characters who can do things in Smash that can't do in their original video game is Olimar, Olimar can jump in Super Smash Bros while he can't jump in Pikmin video games!

Some Hot Takes: MK64 controlls better than Double Dash. Super Mario Odyssey is one of my least favourite Mario Games. Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door is not fun. Modern Paper Mario Games have better Gameplay. Double Dash is the worst 3D Mario Kart.

I actually really agree with some of your opinions. I’ve never thought Mario 64 was all that amazing. I have zero nostalgia for it whatsoever. I bought it a few years ago on my Wii U and it was really boring. I also don’t think a Mario game needs a super complex and deep story but I do think it should have a little pizzazz to it. Bowser just kidnapping peach is really boring. Even just mixing up the story a little bit can go along way

It's really nice to see some contreversial opinions sometimes. It makes you think of the other way around. Here's a few of mine : - Doctor Mario deserves to stay in Smash and needs a brand new game - Shy Guys Falls is the worst nitro track of MK8 - Overall Mario Kart Tour is actually very enjoyable, more than MK7 at least - Paper Mario TTYD is amazing, but most of the OST and sounds design are dreadfully bad

I agree with Super Mario 64. I got Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and that camera annoys me. I think I'll just only finish Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy. The Mario & Sonic Olympic series fell off. I only like Mario & Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games and the Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games. I think Nintendo & Sega should try a Mario & Sonic kart racer or maybe a party game. 40 minigames from Mario & 40 from Sonic. They also could use way more characters instead of just 10 from each series. What also fell off to me are the Mario's sports games. Especially the tennis ones. Mario Ultra Smash Tennis was garbage. Mario Tennis Aces is okay, but it just wasn't as good as Mario Power Tennis. It just seems like Nintendo can't deliver anymore when it comes to Mario sports titles. The Gamecube and Wii eras were iconic. I do agree about the New Super Mario Bros. Series being overhated. I never understood people's problems with it, lol ? I'd rather play those than Super Mario 64 any day.

Finally someone else that likes the Koopalings in Mario Kart and thinks they deserve their own character slots like everyone else. I am sick of everyone saying that have to be shoehorned under Bowser Jr just because of Smash while clone characters like Metal Mario and Dry Bowser can be their own character. The Koopalings are their own characters with different personalities and character traits yet they are treated like copies of Bowser Jr because of Smash when Bowser Jr debuted 14 years after the Koopalings. They are great characters that are way too overhated and underrated. Also I really like Wendy O Koopa. She is way too overhated just because of her appearance or because of the non canon TV show. Pink Gold Peach is actually more popular than her which is a complete joke. I also agree that Super Mario 64 is way too overrated. It is always ranked as the best Mario game just because of nostalgia and was revolutionary. I do not understand how the later games that improved on Mario 64 in many different ways are worse just because they were not the ones that started it all. The camera is awful, the controls are slippery and wonky, some of the stars are stupidly hidden, infuriating time consuming stars, and bland worlds. A sample of the controls being awful: I slightly touch a slope on Cool Cool Mountain and then Mario uncontrollably keeps sliding until I fall into the abyss like that baby penguin. A sample of stupidly hidden stars: Collecting five obscure coins that you would never think to collect all of them in the pyramid will give you a star. How was I supposed to know that? There are no hints in the game. Sample of infuriating stars: Collecting 95-99 coins and then falling off Tick Tock Clock or Rainbow Ride because of the bad controls and having to do it all over again. As for the bland worlds reason. Other than Tick Tock Clock the levels are just generic hills or areas. It is not a bad game at all and it was great for it’s time but it is too overrated and overpraised despite having many flaws. I have been hated on for loving the Koopalings and not liking Super Mario 64 so please respect my opinion and do not rage at my comment.

I have a very…… complicated relationship with Mario kart Wii. I don’t like the game. The Motion controls are horrible and the item balancing is abysmal and I’m convinced that the only people that like it are the ones that were up with it and have nostalgia for it. The thing is though I have nostalgia for it to. When I was younger my older siblings would always play it and I would watch them and they would never let me play because I was the younger brother😂. So well I don’t have nostalgia for playing the game I still have nostalgia for the game. It’s music and especially its tracks are very nostalgic for me. I don’t like the game but I don’t really hate it either

Absolutely agree with #12 and #18. After what happened with Mario Strikers on the Switch, if they butcher Mario Sluggers too they would just be pouring salt on the already deep wound... Same thing with #15. The Lost Levels is a HORRIBLE game. As well as #25. Super Mario 3D All-Stars? More like 3D No-Thanks (yeah, that was a pretty lame excuse for a pun, but this game is a lame excuse for a compilation, so y'know...)

Unpopular Opinions: Super Mario Sunshine is the best Mario game ever made! Super Mario Maker 2 is objectively a bad game. Dark Moon is the best Luigi’s Mansion. The arcade games are Mariokart at its best Lemmy is the best Mariokart character of all time. Daisy is the best Mario girl. Bowsers Fury is good but overrated. Mario Party 5 and 8 are some of the best ones!
