You can say this every year. Im tellig you dude when a card gives you issues. Rma it, or get a new one. Its not normal the issues yku have had. You should know by now due to comments. Your card also under performs comoared to what it should. Also if you didnt use that dang beta for so long it wouldnt have left such a sour taste in your mouth. Regardless I would say get another one test it and see the type of issues it has or doesnt have. It may surprise you. Im just suprised sitting here with a 4070 super getting the performance you are and without a single hitch. Ive had legit 0 issues and its out perfoming the 3090 especially with ray tracing and of course with dlss3.

Yeah man I'm staying mid-tier I don't believe that you have to spend a lot of money now to get experience that is good enough for me I have a 2080 super what does 7700 X this processor has made my graphics card so much better and I do know that because I have am4 computer to so I'm perfectly fine staying mid-tier it's all about the hype it's like a pair of Jordans all you need is shoes on your feet the 2080 plays my games just fine in 1440p I just get a 16 gig card next in I will be good don't fall for the hype people just get what you need keep your money in your pocket

The colour argument is so subjective it's a non argument. I think you were playing with 100% digital vibrancy at one point? I mean if so I can imagine your the only person 😂.. I get the RT argument of how much extra money is it worth. But in the same respect you don't tremble in fear when a RT game is released maybe as much as when your on AMD. I mean AMD are apparently putting all development into RT on 8000 series 🤷‍♂️. Does that mean if 8000 series show big RT gains you also downplay the benefit of RT performance, I'm gonna say I doubt it! 4k upscale if it's good why not use it? That I find a strange I have to admit. I mean I just see it as free performance so why the hell not use it 🤷‍♂️.. I mean the one thing I'm still interested to know as I run similar stack to you is we've heard the advantages although downplayed of the 4080s. So what's the advantage on AMD that makes you want to remove the 4080s go through the ddu driver process and use the 7900xt instead? Obviously I understand when purchasing the value aspect is a reason. But you have them both now regardless...

I think if you know you're going to upgrade relatively soon when the new gen drops go for a mid range card at most if you just need something now. If you know you're not gonna want to upgrade anytime soon go for one of the higher end cards the vram bump and better performance will definitely last you a few years at bare minimum.

Ive learned to accept my 3080. It still games great at 1440P. Ill consider the 5080 if it's around 4090 performance for $1000 with at least 16GB of Vram.

We don't know anything about the 5080, it will probably be over msrp when it is first released so it would be best to wait until a couple months for MSRP plus you don't want to get a first run on any major item, let others be the guinea pigs. I think you did the right thing. If anything just wait for the 5090 comes out and pricing hopefully stabilizes in a year or so.

I remember looking at CPU gains before and the biggest difference is at 1080p... but if you're gaming at 4K it's actually not much of a difference, very minimal like 5fps or bit more depending on the game

Nonsense 👍 Depends on settings and game you play. Some engines using per pixel effect/physics calculations and pixel count affects performance a lot there.

nah, thats very game dependent. in 4k native i gained 50fps going from a 11700k to a 7800x3d in warzone3

If you're upgrading from a much lower end CPU to a 7000x then the gains are more worthwhile Hence Why i'm not upgrading until I see how big a difference the 9000x3d is

Check out Starcitizen at 4K native compare some ryzen models vs the 3xd and 14900k stock and a tuned 14900k at 8400mhz DDR 5 can't compare these "easy" games that runs on a refridgerator or my dogs GPS collar, only when games get real heavy/unoptimized and force the CPU's deep into ram fetching will you ever see true scaling. But yeah titles from 2016 will all show up as a straight line on CPU benchmarks.. short story some cases you can go from 60-70fps 4k native to 100+ frames, all on the same 4090.

You got jebaited. Nvidia ALWAYS announce the cards a month before launch. They will book a date a few weeks BEFORE the announcement. Right after the summer ends. Why would they build hype towards a product while they still have stock of the old product to sell ? Look at what AMD did, new CPU in a month, no talk about X3D.

@@Young_Presley thing is, i dont care for raytracing in the slightest. its just glass and water reflections that add nothing to the game but tank your fps. DLSS is also useless in my case cause i play native and turn off any super sampling. I dont use my PC for work, i use it for gaming so another useless argument of nvidia card being "better for workloads". I see the same arguments being used all the time and its all pointless crap i dont need on the nvidia side (i only used nvidia in the past), plus the 4080 super is almost $300 more than the 7900 xtx for pointless features (to me).

The entire package is better with Nvidia if you use all those features. I use most of if not all the features on Nvidia and anytime I try to go AMD I feel like if I paid a little more I would get more and you do get more. I don't like Nvidia prices like the next person... I'm tired of paying for the Jensen's Leather jackets. Depending on the price gap I may not go Nvidia, but AMD needs to step it up.

I would hold off imo for just a little bit longer, unless you are already being bottlenecked by some certain professional application you are running. But if you got to have it I don't blame you lol. I still have the 5800X3D and it stomps through everything I throw at it, I even do a bit of Unreal engine 5 - 5.4 work.

Froggy not to start a war here. There is games lile dyling light 2 and watch dogs legions i think as well you could add. ..metro exodus a few more...but it is subjective so whatever. Also at 9 33 you said amd has the edge on rt??? I think on these rants you sometimes get your words mixed up and its confusing. Look at end of the day if rt just isnt that important the amd cards are a no brainer. Plus i dont like where nvidia is already at price wise and where they are heading. Just another thing that hit me was your on a 4k tv now. I have dropped resolution to 3480 x 1800 on hitman 3 and put dlss balanced mode on...to be honest you really dont notice that much of a difference sitting back 2m from your tv. Looks freaking incredible. What im getting at is this is a crucial element we dont talk about enough in terms of these cards and longevity. Also a massive advantage pc has is that you can custom resoltuons and wide screen which just makes it look way way better than a console. Maybe worth a video experimenting with this..we need to go jist beyond resolution and factor stuff like this in. Res is just numbers we can ultimately manipulate factor's that influence our experiences

Given what we have seen in the past from all manufacturers the past several generations. The rtx 5080 isn't going to be as fast as people think, it's not going to be a huge leap in real world gaming performance, from a current rtx 4080 or 4080 super. It will probably excel more at Ai / ray tracing though I would certainly expect. Look at an example even from a rtx 3080ti to a regular rtx 4080, it wasn't a huge leap in performance. The 3080ti version which has 12gb vram is still a good gpu as of now. That being said I think the 5080 would be a good upgrade path if you were still on a 3080/3080ti. I think its going to be the same this time around again, the 5090 will have the significant gap over the others under its belt so to speak. The 5090 should be a killer gpu, but even then I still think its going to take until 2 gens from now on the 6000 series where we can really see those gpus shine on Unreal Engine 5.

The difference between the RTX3080 and RTX4080 was quite large (46fps vs. 80fps in Cyberpunk), so I would be surprised if the RTX5080 would be only a little bit faster than the RTX4080. But for people like me who are still playing on the old GPU (GTX1080), the perspective is different. Even the RTX4080S would be a massive improvement for me. I could be finally able to play the latest games with ease, so IDK if I can wait until Q4 and possibly Q1 2025 because I'm expecting a small quantity of RTX5080 at launch and high prices (because of scalpers).

🤣Same thing as me Frog! I'm addicted to buying games & so many different games i've tried. I defo have a problem because I'll buy a game try it and then wanna play another game and it's very hard for me to finish games with my focus going elsewhere! The only games I've been able to play and finish mostly are the Assassin's creed games this last year and this year Final Fantasy and Forspoken amongst others I did also but takes me ages man, I took a break and then went back to it to finish it Also like you SAY Ray tracing on Nvidia is only a little advantage in a handful of games yet i'm still able to use it on my XTX and games look great! Assassins creed all look great at native no upscaling needed on AMD, Odyssey, Valhalla i've played most recently. beautiful looking games amongst others with FSR 3 now on new titles Avatar etc AMD does fine

being a pc gamer means you're in a constant hunt for more performance. you just have to set a boundary for yourself how much fomo you can live with. its why at some point pc gamers really start getting into pc hardware to ring the most out of our gear through overclocking. a 4070 ti super is just a cut down 4080, so overclocking a 4070 ti super can get you 95-99% of the upper market sku. live and learn. as a pc gamer from as far back as the early 2000s, buying early in a product launch lets you enjoy top level performance longer because they usually launch the premium or near premium product first and then the down markets skus later.

It's hilarious that you have a 4080 Super and you think you already need an upgrade. Do you have ANY idea how good an 80 class card is compared to a mid range 60 class? Also, the 4070 Super is not mid range, it's on the low point of high end. Furthermore, if you already have a 4080 Super and go to a 5080, you're only going to get maybe 20% more performance which equates to 72 FPS if you're only at 60. That isn't as big of a jump as people want to believe it is.

Your not wrong. Frog has said 15 to 20 fps.more on ray tracing games is not much. This is what the 5080 will give maybe 5 more frames than that. He won't be impressed and the upgrade isn't what he is thinking it will be. Frog needs a 2 gen upgrade to feel it. Even 3080.to 4080 that was decent 45 percent increase for me...but gosh me on 60 series will really feel it...ifnthe 6080.isnt $6080

Dude making me feel bad that I kept my 4080 super and sold my 4070ti super lol. Ow well that's how technology works man always buy something and half year later they rub it in your face how the next new thing is light years ahead haha. So although I do regret spending so much on my graphics card at the end of the day there is much worse things I could have blown the money on and makes me feel good that I have something to show for my money spent and believe it's going to be a solid GPU overall fir a few years especially if they get better technology with with DLSS and Framegen etc you know.

Bro, there's absolutely no way the 5080 is releasing this year. Its gonna be the 5090 and it will be a paper launch just like the 4090. All the chips are going to be sold to data centers where they can get 10 times the money, we're witnessing the slow death of geforce and I wouldn't be surprised that in 6-7 years time Nvidia gives up on desktop gpus altogether.

I haven't watched the video, so I'm just basing this on the title, but I think "future-proof" quality settings in games are your problem. Current hardware cannot satisfactorily run current games with maxed out settings, and the 5080 won't either. You'll need more like an 8080. With a 1440p monitor and sensible quality settings, a 7800X3D and 4080 can run any current game incredibly well, just don't fall into the trap of using settings that make almost no visible difference but hammer performance. E.g. I can run CS2 at 360hz 360fps on high quality and I have shown other people what it looks like at high quality vs maxed out, and nobody can see any visual difference, but you can sure as hell see the extra power consumption and lower frame rate with maxed out settings. Forza Motorsport runs at 144fps no problems with high quality and again it looks absolutely fine. Max out the settings and it runs like a dog for close to zero visual improvement, and so will a 5080. Just dial down the settings and enjoy the gameplay, we're incredibly lucky to be able to play games that look the way they do today. When I was a child, I had a ZX Spectrum and enjoyed playing games on that, but now people can't enjoy games on a 7800X3D and 4080?!

its not just raytracing, its also the AI optimized architecture. Everything that has to do with AI or Raytracing, The Nvidia RTX cards are the MUCH better choice. AMD is very poorly AI optimized and their drivers usually suck ass For stable diffusion and video generation mixed with gaming, i pick NVIDIA every single time. my 4080 S is far superior (by~30%) for AI and gaming with raytracing copared to a 7900XTX For raytracing, nvidia cards have 3x the performance then AMD, btw. to answer the video question: yes, a 4080 super is totally worth buying now, because the 5080 will propably release END of the year in Q4 and most likely even Q1 2025, and we already have news that the performance is being cut down on the 5XXX series. the performance of the 4080 Super wont be THAT much behind the 5080 people make it up. 5080 will have ~15-20% more performance, and i wont wait half a year for that. The pricetags will be the same anyways. Would not be surprised if the 5080 goes for 1,2k

I think your right..this maybe the last chance for us to really get a high end gpu. Im thinking gpus will be out of gamers price range. Consoles will look very good over the coming years...gosh i hate even thinking this. Maybe even consoles go up in pricing.
