There's a movie called "Afflicted" and it's about two homies who decide to do that trip of a lifetime thing. But one of them becomes infected with a disease and here's the selling point. It's a found footage type deal, written & directed by the two leads. Great movie to react to unlike say Brotherhood of the Wolf; that movie has way to much going on for a reaction. But yeah "Afflicted" is a good watch from 2013.

DUUUDE, you guys on on point with your reactions! This is easily the best vampire movie I've ever seen. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the more romanticized version of vampires we see a lot, but I love just how primal these Vamps are! They're truly just feral animals playing with there food. Sooo disturbing and frightening. And that score at the end, when Ebon squares off with Marlow, is one of the most badass peicing of horror film music ever! reminded me a lot of Mick Gordon's work on DOOM (2016).

I liked how it de romanticised vampire lore. They aren't charming, they're monsters. The location was a unique twist. The main problem I had w/ the movie was that there wasn't enough development for a lot of the characters. It's hard to care about some getting killed when you have no real idea of who they are.

Think they are trying to more relay on the helplessness of the population instead of the character arcs, we got a tight group thou with some kinda story arc but its more of the "Village" closeness to protect one another.

This most has some of the best designed vampires of all time. Vampires shouldn’t have two teeth that always hit the vein they target, they should have a mouthful of razor sharp teeth like sharks or crocodiles, and claws like eagle talons. What’s also really terrifying about these vamps is that they’re not sophisticated or elegant, they’re almost feral pack hunters.

It just really stands out as in a movie with so much chaos and screeching(which I gotta say is probably one of the best monster sounds ever😉) throughout a significant portion of the movie……and yet imo one of the most unsettling and quite horrifying scenes takes place during a relatively calm and quiet moment 😨 Tho let’s be real here……pretty much every single bit of Ben Foster’s dialogue is like the creepiest thing ever ffs! 3:52 That's not what "the last day of sun" means. Barrow, Alaska's northernmost city, experiences complete darkness for two months out of the year, from November to January. This is known as polar night, when the sun does not rise above the horizon. Anchorage also experiences periods of extended darkness, known as polar nights, during which the sun does not rise above the horizon, and the city remains in twilight or darkness for the entire 24-hour period. The exact number of days without sunlight varies from year to year, but it typically ranges from about 50 to 60 days.

I watched this movie for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Definitely I would say one of the best vampire movie ever made. These vamps are scary, menacing and horrifying. That's how you make good vampire movies. One thing that I was a little saddened by with this movie is that it doesn't reach cult classic for me. There's too much random stuff that happens, the ending left me cold (no pun intended), and also I could've gone for just a little more lore exploration of who these vamps are and where they came from. Other than that the movie is very entertaining from the action, stunts, music, production and the actors are all actually decent including our boy Josh Hartnett.
