The yellow and blue wires are called PWM wires (Pulse width modulation) meaning you are capable of precisely controlling the fan rpm via a pwm fan controller. You can get small PCBs that have built in features such as PWM paired with temperature sensors that you can wire to your coolant for a fully automatic system.
@jayinla228 Жыл бұрын
what other parts would you need for that?
@AutodidactEngineer Жыл бұрын
@@jayinla228 Alternatively you can get fans that have built in sensors that adjust the fan speed according to the air temperature coming from the radiator but since they are designed to run on PCs there is some modding that is neccesary to get your desired results.

@𝙈𝙧.𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙣 thanks, just with your response I can tell you understand the electronics here. Could you please explain how it's wired? Please correct me - the black wire from the fan goes to the handle bar switch, where does the red wire from the fan go? Where do the wires from the handle bar switch go? Please be as detailed as possible, thank you!

Hi what’s the thermostat you’ve used on the rad cap and which part of the rad does it measure the temp from ? Thanks 👌
@jayinla228 Жыл бұрын
does it have metal or plastic blades? Could you also please go into further detail on how you wired this? The black wire goes to the switch where does the red wire go? How does the switch connect to the fan and the battery? You say to add a fuse, which size and where do you put the fuse, I see 2 of them, does it go from switch to the pos or neg? Sorry not so great with electric.

Why dont you want an automatic activation when the temp is high? Why do you want it manaul with a switch?

I know when I’m about to go up something steep and slow. Better to get ahead of the heat than wait until it gets high.

If you keep the bike running, the stator seems to keep up fine. It only pulls 4 amps, which isn't a lot.
@jeromefriolet90767 ай бұрын
Example; my ktm stator creates 110w, fan consumes 50w+ 35w head light. Your at 85w… your below what that stator can generate. Youd have to run it on with bike off to kill battery. Only run it in slow sections or when your stuck…

I conducted that search on Amazon, Ebay, New Egg, a search engine, and even the Delta website. After looking through hundreds of returns I have not seen * ONE * Aluminum fan. I'm phukkin done looking.

The average plastic PC fan absolutely will NOT stand up to the harsh environment and abuse of a dirtbike. I've tried it. Those inexpensive plastic PC fans last about 10 minutes on the average dirtbike radiator.

Comes down to how much is your time worth scavenging for this hack. A computer fan will never draw as much air as a purpose built setup.
