Put on your sunglasses for this uphill climb from the base of Otay Mountain to the top. And watch out for those deep ruts! We're in the desert, the sun is out but it's not too hot.

Distance in the video: approximately six strenous miles
Bike route: We start near Otay Lake Road next to Pio Pico campground where we find Otay Mountain Truck Road which we follow to the top. If you ask at the store out front, they may allow you to park in their oversized lot. Enjoy!

Seeing the top of the front tire spinning before me as i watch the miles go by... it draws the watcher into the riding experince. You cannot forget that it's a bike ride rather than a drone or a car camera. Verrry cool.

That looked like a constant uphill ride, about a 3000 foot elevation change. And it was pretty isolated. I only saw 1 hiker & 1 cyclist along your route. Liz, yikes, close to the edge a few times. Get well soon. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤️

Hi Robert, Yes it was a constant uphill with some very gnarly drop-offs. I (Paul) rode it a couple days after Liz and never got comfortable on the route - the downhill was the worse part! Liz is doing Much Better after her surgery and sends her Thanks.
