This is EXCELLENT... I am a 74 year old guy and this is something that really implements staying in shape. This has become an integral part of my morning stretch and daily warm up routine. ENERGIZING......Gets the blood moving and lymphatic flowing...I add Breathing, lots of water, clearing the mind of nonsense...

After a lower back injury, the first I've ever experienced, I sought Miranda's/Essentric's program. I'm an early riser and have seen Miranda's classical stretch program on my local PBS station for years. I'm an athlete, who has practiced yoga for 30+ years, plays polo and am a practiced equestrienne (Jumping horses). This connective Tissue workout was EXACTLY the recipe my lower back needed. I started slowly, each week my back felt better. Now, 5 weeks later, my body craves this quick stretching workout!!!

Ive been hesitant to return to a yoga regimen, because i have a vulnerable lower back that threatens to become a major issue. Yoga's extension and compression is wonderful but i found my lower back problems increased with some of the exercises. And although I've had wonderful periods of daily jogging and yoga, I've tried to rely on minimal exercise i got while gardening, childcaring, etc. So now I'm old and carrying 30 # and weak. Your comment is inspiring to me. Not just bc youve commended Miranda re: lower back success from this routine, but because you obviously enjoy yourself in physically demanding exercise and activity! I want to feel empowered, graceful, strong again! Thank you.

I have always been a rough and tumble guy but I never in my life heard anyone talk about facia health or stretching. I’m not even a senior and I’m doing these exercises from now on. Sitting all day at work during the pandemic is making me so stiff. I have to say, though, even though western medicine didn’t learn about exercises to build up soft tissues until 15 years ago, Eastern medicine has, for centuries! Some of these movements resemble Tai Chi, except these are easier because I’m focusing on only a few joints at a time, which makes balance not so difficult to maintain compared to when your entire body is moving slowly using complex movements. I do like how you explain in detail which connective tissues are being targeted, and how. So informative. Thank you!

I am 58 next month, and in pretty good shape. I walk, hike, and do yoga regularly. After ONE time doing this video, I was walking on the beach and saw my shadow and thought "What slinky hip movements I have, wooo!" She tells it: it is a whole different kind of workout.

Having suffered for a year with achilles and wrist problems, my Mom introduced me to Miranda and these exercises..... Felt results after just 2-3 weeks. Great stretch! It definitely feels different and kind of uncomfortable (but not painful!) at first, because this is a unique workout and not how most of us move during our regular day. @@mangog8277 Yes, just be gentle. I was scared to do it because all the spine bending or tucking in but as long as you are gentle and deliberate it is great. What disks did you herniate? Mine were c5 c6 and c7.

Due to many back injuries over the past 50 years, as well as a labral hip tear, I haven’t been able to do my old favorite exercises. I’ve resisted surgeries because I know they can ultimately cause more weakness, or harm, than good. I am so glad to discover your video, today! I’m expecting great improvements - all over my body!! 😄

I love these stretches and the way you teach them, it's a great full body fascia workout! I have to point out however that I was surprised about 20 minutes in when you said that 'we didn't even know connective tissue existed until about 10-15 years ago'?! It was first written about (that we know of) in the 1600's, Andrew Taylor Still worked with it in the 1800's, Ida Rolf in the 60's on, just to mention a few... it is being studied in more vigorous ways in the past 20 years with research, but I would not say we didn't know it existed, merely that we are seeing it in new ways.

loved this stretch workout and I was able to feel where the connective tissue was really tight and need a little bit more love. lower back pain has lessened after doing this workout for entire body. Feel so much more relaxed and muscles not as tight and rigid. After running this weekend this seems to be a great workout to use on my recovery days.

I’m so grateful to have found your videos. I heard about essentric’s a few years ago by a lady that teaches it at our community center. But I never followed through. For the last six months I’ve had so much pain in my right shoulder and arm that I could barely sleep at night. Last week, I remembered about the essentric‘s work out the lady had mentioned to me, and I looked it up on KZbin and found your videos. I started doing the shoulder and back pain one last week and it felt so good to be able to gently stretch my shoulder and arm. It felt like it was healing to my body. Today I did this connective tissue work out and I plan to continue doing it. It is so soothing and it feels like natural medicine for my body. Thank you. I can already feel my shoulders loosening up and it gives me hope that I will feel pain free again.

At 77, I have very stiff shoulders and some arthritis in my knees. Saw a PT and a trainer, but those exercises just put me in a lot of pain. I started stretching on my own because it feels so good. I don't know how this came up on my feed this morning. I've been "aching" to do some sort of exercise but my 56yr old menopausal body felt so stiff and painful. This was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for my needs, as I don't do yoga anymore. Although it didn't make me out of breath, it definitely made me sweat. I love this and will definitely do this every day. I love how the feather and bird movements made me feel, I need a lot more of that. Thank God for this video

After double hip surgery this is the answer to all my questions! Have done lots of physiotherapy and was felling sooo much pain... This is so great I can do this without feeling any pain after. Thank you!

So glad you enjoyed it! For conditions like spial osteoporosis, e always recommend to get your physicians advice because though our technique is very therapeutic, we are not physicians and therefore cannot give any medical advice. With osteoporosis, everyone has a different range that is safe and optimal that they will work within. A main focus in Essentrics is rebalancing the spine, which takes moving your spine in every direction on all planes of movement in a balanced, even way. We work a lot on the rotation of your hips which will allow more movement through the lumbar zone so you don’t put excessive rotational strain on the lumbar spine itself, which in many cases can be safe for osteoporosis. We also place a major emphasis on pulling up instead of sinking so the vertebrae are actually pulling apart (against gravity). This simultaneously stretches and strengthens your muscles; you are lengthening the muscles that support your spine (and really all your bones and joints) in a strengthened fashion.
