I've been trying meditation to slow myself down so i get relaxed enough to dive, but it's these types of routines that really get my mind quiet. I really enjoyed it and will make time to do them every day

Thank you for this and the podcast which I just discovered. Hehe, this definitely showed me where I need to put in some flexibility and core strengthening work.

Thank you! Yes this is what I'm doing before each session (once I reach a certain depth) in training.

Love this routine. Thank you for your effort putting it together. It’s obvious that you have years of practice. We’re on our road trip around Oz but whenever I have internet access, I look forward to doing it again & again & again…😇😊

Great video, thanks for putting it together. I’ve been doing this every morning for a couple of weeks now and can definitely feel my flexibility coming back. Are we supposed to follow along at the same speed or is this a guideline to learn the movements? I find I don’t have enough time to breathe as deeply as I’d like between postures if I follow at the same speed. I’d also be super stoked if you were to follow this up with a 10/15 minute pranayama video we could follow along with!

Thank you, Jasper 🙏🏼 Good question. The first question is, are you using ujjayi breathing already? If you are, you will find that this is the 'short form' of the routine. I used 3 breaths in each posture, 6 seconds inhalation, 6 seconds exhalation. The 'long form' version would be 6 breaths. If you're not using ujjayi breathing combined with the two primary bandhas (muscular/energetic contractions), then this is just a stretching routine, not yoga at all. The video is actually really meant to be a reminder/guide for those who have attended the workshops or yoga courses. There is a video on this channel to learn ujjayi breathing. Ujjayi should be the main focus of the practice, not the postures. But yes, ultimately the goal is to practice on your own, without the video, and at your own pace, depending on the day. About the pranayama. There is no way to make a 15 pranayama video, just as there is no way to learn yoga asana from videos, without also workshopping the fundamental inner/unseen dynamics with a teacher, it is really impossible to do it for pranayama, which is much, much more involved. To practice pranayama properly you need several hours at least of formal training from a knowledgeable teacher (very, very rare to find. I know personally only of my own teacher Gregor Maehle). You need to understand svara, bandhas, brain hemispheres, nadis, digital counting, mudra and cakras. Otherwise you are simply breathing fast, or slow, without any purpose. Most 'yoga teachers' know nothing about the genuine practice of pranayama, unfortunately. To get started and get a feel for how deep that practice is, you can read Gregor Maehle's Pranayama book. I also teach it in workshops in person and online but not often 🙏🏼

Also one more thing. Yes! The transitional section (the vinyasa) is too rushed in this routine, because I do it so fast personally!

@@truedepthfreediving thanks for your detailed response. I wasn’t already aware of ujjayi breathing before I found your video; but I have been exploring breath work lately so I was glad to learn something new. I feel kind of like I’m just dipping my toe into something that I’d really like to fully immerse myself in, when it comes to yoga and breathing. It’s difficult to take it much further than self guided learning and KZbin videos because we live on a boat, currently in French Polynesia. Not too many yoga schools out in the South Pacific! I would love one day to spend time studying yoga and pranayama with a proper teacher, but for now I have to content myself with what I can find on the internet.

@@JasperTrojeTuck Indeed! Finding yoga teachers is not easy out there. Finding teachers with genuine understanding is hard anywhere on the planet. Again, I highly recommend the books of my teacher Gregor Maehle in order to get a broad understanding of traditional yoga practices. The books of Georg Feuerstein are the best for studying the history and philosophy of yoga. The Deeper Dimension of Yoga by Feuerstein is one of my favourites 🙏🏼

Hey Bryn, some others have said they have success with adblocker plugins for their browser, to bypass the ads. Good luck 🙏🏼
