The reason Pascal looks so much different from Lottie and Lyle is probably because they're river otters, while he's a sea otter. They have different shaped mouths, and sea otters have shorter, flatter tails. They also float on their backs. River otters are more sleek, have longer tails, and swim belly down like most aquatic animals.

I found out completely by accident that in New Horizons, if you shoot a present out of the sky directly above a simple well (the big stone well with no top cover), even if there are empty ground tiles surrounding it, the present will fall straight down into the well and disappear instead of bouncing off onto the ground. Considering how circumstantial it is, I just find it really funny that they even thought to add soemthing like that.

I think it works like this: \/ If the imaginary grid spot of the impact point as well as two imaginary grid spots from that point in every direction are all in use by something, then the present just ‘goes bloop’ or something and vanishes. Otherwise, it will bounce into an empty imaginary grid spot. I think that’s how it works. The wasps work the same way they if you didn’t know that. If there’s no allowed imaginary grid spots to land in or bounce into, they vanish as soon as they land. Just like ‘poof!’, ya know?

There are real cats (猫) that look different, too, but there is only one variant in game. Of course animal villagers share head types but “cats” don’t HAVE to be one type, if designers feel it’s more appropriate otherwise. An English speaker might design cartoonish “otter” characters to look somewhat similar to each other regardless of if they are river ones or sea ones, but that probably isn’t even a consideration for a Japanese‐speaking designer.

There's also a statue(the fake ver) that glows at night & floats when you interact with it.(It looks like a robot) Fun fact Resetti's N64 outfit(long sleeve shirt) if you can see his midsection you can see something yellow. He's wearing a haramaki(meaning belly wrap) which is a Japanese belly warmer. In Japan during the 70s & 80s it was considered out-of-date underwear for old men. In some anime stuff old men wear that shirt & belly warmer so Resetti is depicted as an old man yelling at you for resetting.

They can't vault over the rivers, and they can't use ladders or vines to climb up or down. Snowboys are an alien civilization. They've been looking forward to the moment of their formation since they were still snowflakes. When they melt, they don't feel pain, and even find it fun. Is the rest of the water in the game alive and conscious? Including the water used to brew coffee, or found in baths and showers...? Wait, the tier list is still a thing? It seemed like they stopped maintaining it or something... Also, Mr. Resetti can just show up randomly at The Roost, no amiibo necessary. I guess you could also say that what an artist does with their own music is their business, and if they want to give out what they could be selling, and they're not under contract not to distribute like that... Of course, now you can buy his music, with what's available changing to a random one per day, with only a few not being for sale, but either by request only, or being given to you ONLY on the day you said was your character's birthday. There are also two Daisys: Daisy and Daisy Mae. And then there's Renée and Reneigh, and Tammi and Tammy. The kangaroo children remind me of Wade's floatie. You know, from U.S. Acres/Orson's Farm. They don’t harm a single living thing, including grass, unless there is an evil being, in which they will pretty brutally kill. So, supposedly, when Giraffes were brought to the emperor of China at the time, they were mistaken for the Qilin, and named after them. Although Qilin are more draconic with lion tails, and Kirin are more deer-like with ox tails (tbh the tails are similar anyways). It’s honestly no surprise they thought Giraffes were draconic, they are gigantic, have horns, and their spots could look like scales. Plus, they both have manes, a tufted tail, and have deer-like legs.

I think the rough translation for Booker's Chinese localization is because in Chinese, it's kind of like a sign of endearment or respect to elders who are male to call them uncle. And so, at least from my experience with the language (which is admittedly limited), this is typically done by referring to them as 大爺, but in the case of Booker and Copper it's 叔叔, which also means uncle, but specifically an uncle who's younger than your own father, meanwhile 大爺 is the opposite, an uncle who's older than your own father. It is weird, though, that they didn't give Copper and Booker some unique names at the very least. I think it would have been neat if they did like a play on words kind of name, where their names are homophones of police. Or even just naming Copper as Jing (警) and Booker as Cha (察), which together form the pronunciation for 警察 (police).
