Also ask Notion to undo the change they made to Layouts 3 weeks ago. The side panel used to remember how you left it. Now it doesn't, which is crippling when making templates for people who aren't Notion gurus, as there are 3 different ways to open it, 4 ways to close it, and 3 different descriptions of what it is. They really need to roll that back.

Not natively through Notion Calendar - however, since Notion Automations has webhooks now, it's likely possible using those and the Notion API. (It'd likely be pretty technical to set up, though)

It's only possible in Notion Calendar (or technically in the My Tasks widget within Home). Otherwise, there isn't a way to natively merge pages from one database into a single view.

Thomas, one more question for you! I'm trying to create a multi-part automation but having some issues. Wanted your opinion on this. Automation 1: When 'Recent Communication' field is edited, 'Follow up date' field is marked as 3 weeks from today (I used a formula for this). The automation works fine! Automation 2: When 'status' field contains 'Texted prospect', Set 'Recent Communication' to 'Date Triggered'. This automation, on it's own, also works fine! So in theory, all I have to do is edit the the status field to 'texted prospected' and this should trigger automation 2, which should then trigger automation 1. But automation 1 does not trigger. It's like one automation cannot trigger the next one, even if the rules say it should. Would you mind giving me your take on this?

You're correct, one automation cannot trigger another! Only edits to pages made by users (also integrations) can trigger automations. They can't be indirectly triggered by a change coming from another automation. It'd be nice if this was possible, but it would also have the potential to cause a LOT of chaos in a user's workspace - in a way that would be hard to detect or trace. I think Notion is going to have to build a very robust system of logs and rollback tools before they can enable this.

Looking into the Pinning of tabs I do not see that right mouse click option. When I submitted this missing feature issue to support I got a response that said pinning tabs is not an available feature. Anybody else able to see the Pin Tab choice on the right mouse click dialog box?

In their first swing at fixing the issue they had me delete all local Notion data and that did not solve the issue. Awaiting a response now.

Does anyone know the formula for checking if a date property in the same database has a start and end date? I'm trying show the year that an item was finished, but only for the ones that were finished and unfortunately I only have the one date property instead of separate start and end date properties. I found out that dateEnd("property") returns a date, even when there is no range for that property. I'm sure this is probably an easy thing for someone who knows what they are doing, buy I'm a newbie to Java and Notion formulas and I'm lost.

Webhook sounds great. Do you know if there are plans to use webhooks get data into Notion? For example, adding customers deets for an ecom software to a CRM in Notion?

That's already possible, so long as the app you're using has the right tools! Webhooks matter for the app that is triggering a workflow. So in your case, Notion is not the trigger app - the ecom software is. An integration would use the Notion API to create a record in Notion with the details, and if the econm software platform has webhooks, it can trigger this automation immediately when something happens. Notion's own webhooks enable it to trigger automations when something happens in Notion - e.g. a new page being created, or a property being changed. Hope this helps!

I'm not totally sure how I feel about that. I can definitely see the benefits, but I also see that Layouts are basically a way to give more structure to the underlying database. Binding them to templates could make things really complex. If Notion could find a way to do it elegantly, though, I'd be for it!

There is! Just go into the property options in List or Table views, and drag your checkmark/status property to the left of the title property. You can see this in action during many parts of this video - e.g. the Rounded Checkboxes section.

Ee2e is probably never coming. Almost no comparable tools at or near Notion's level of complexity and number of users has it - not Slack, not Dropbox, not Google Drive, etc. It's extremely hard to implement in an app focused on real-time collaboration. I'd recommend looking at Obsidian or Standard Notes if ee2e is very important to you.

Agreed, and it's part of the reason I do not use sub-tasks in my personal system. If I need to break a task down, I just add some to-do blocks to the page body. If I need to break it down into parts that all need due dates and such, it's a project.

@ThomasFrankExplains even then i believe its so good that ive been losing my mind over finding work arounds most stuff , for example rollup of rollups of various levels of the tree now i do all in one formula no need for 4 collumns to get the data of sub levels , doing any formating on the item would remove the icons , now i each page i create is related to itself so that i can have more freedom as if it was an external db to use in other views to be honest the feature requires a lot of work , but i would only ask for 2 things , having the totals on the bottom of the database for sub items , currently only the main parents have them , be able to reference those results as properties of the db and a better visual representation of each level , it all looks like the same level
