I know a lot of people will disagree with me on this but Maybe some will not, I honestly don't think New Super Mario Bros 2 is that terrible! Sure and yes it's a lazy sequel and there's almost nothing new about it. But honestly from my point of view it's basically a New Super Mario Bros Wii in your pocket, The game itself is really impressive and it's basically a perfect way to introduce new gen Mario fans to the Mario 2D franchise before new Super Mario Bros U came out. One of my number one favorite parts about the game is the co-op mode, back during long car trips for vacation trips, me and my twin sister would play the living death out of the game and it was an absolute blast. I honestly don't think New Super Mario Bros 2 is terrible in my opinion

I will say this is the first video I watched from your channel, I don't necessarily consider myself a Nintendo fan and personally didn't get into many Nintendo IPs except for a short time when I used my switch for BOTW and forgot about it afterwards for basically 1.5 years (2021-late 2022). Yet, then I heard about Splatoon (yes I know revolutionary but cut me some slack, Nintendo barely does any advertising where I live and I barely knew of the Franchise if at all until Nov 2022 or so). So despite largely not liking shooter games as much as I sometimes tried getting into them, I bought it after watching around 5 minutes of some youtuber playing through the story mode and wouldn't you know it, Splatoon 3 is now my second most played game ever. Now, do I agree with you on some of the things you've said? Well, I dunno. The Wii U wasn't even for sale in Poland for half of 2014 so how was I supposed to even get to know it exists if I was even supposed to try and buy it? But it was an enjoyable watch and now to tie up the loose end of why I mentioned Splatoon, it changed my view on Nintendo quite heavily. Having come from a 50 USD game + 300 USD worth of DLCs hellscape of Paradox Interactive and their monopoly over grand strategy games plus whatever I'm hearing about what's Blizzard or other companies are doing had me happily overlook some of the issues Nintendo has. Of course, DMCAs, barely helping the competitive community outside of Splatoon and instead hurting it actively among many other things isn't great. And I have gripes with the horrid update schedule Nintendo put upon Splatoon 3 making it currently lag behind severely behind Splatoon 2 from what I've heard, they at least have a good reason, they care for their employees. And with high hopes with the recently announced stage reworks, a currently incredibly healthy weapon meta never seen before in the series' lifespan and Side Order being announced bringing hope for upcoming updates finally receiving some decent content as happened after Octo Expansion, things are looking good for Splatoon 3 as much as it may be Splatoon 2 with new graphics in some aspects. To wrap this up, my personal largest gripe with Nintendo when it comes to Splatoon 3 (and in general) though is that they are slacking off or doing badly on the marketing department. A lot. Splatoon 3 as much as it is set to overtake Splatoon 2 in sales, hasn't done great in fighting off it's perception by quite a lot of people which goes along the lines of "It's a game for little children". At least in the west, in Japan it's a damn cultural sensation and popular on the levels of Mario and Zelda, one thing to confirm this claim is just the sheer ratio of sales in sales Internationally to Japan. To put things into perspective: (Data Taken from "Financial Results Explanatory Material Fiscal Year Ended March 2023", the link to the source to it is on the wikipedia page for top-selling nintendo switch games if you can't find it on their investor relations website, the following describes sales happening between April '22 to March '23, the games I've chosen were released from the period the financial year covers) Scarlet/Violet: Japan - 7,350k Everywhere Else - 14,750k Nintendo Switch Sports: Japan - 1,720k Everywhere Else - 7,880k Splatoon 3: Japan - 6,540k Everywhere Else - 4,130k Splatoon 3 is the only game to have higher sales in Japan than Internationally on the list. And is the 2nd highest selling game in Japan for that period except Scarlet/Violet which is a relatively small gap either way for such an established franchise as Pokemon. Splatoon 3 is a dusty jewel which hadn't a chance yet to shine due to nothing less than negligance as the second half of the first year was still incredibly dry with updates and as mentioned, the marketing hasn't done it justice in the west. It's the best shooter game currently on the market and nintendo fails to capitalise on it. Either way, if you did, thank you for reading this. You've earned a sub and did a great job. The best Star Fox game in recent years is Star Fox Event Horizon made by UndyongNephalim/IceCreamMan. It’s a reimagining of the 64 continuity that uses characters and ideas from all three timelines/reboots. It’s pretty jank, but that’s the result of it being a mod for Freespace Open (this open source game so it’s 100% free). There’s also engine limitations like the inability to jump in and out of vehicles like Assault. The guy got in contact with Krystal and Wolf/Bill’s original voice actors. There’s also fans doing voices. It’s REALLY impressive what the guy has been able to do. There’s plenty of content.

Yeah, 3D for 3DS love! The 2DS was abysmal and gave Nintendo and third parties an excuse to not utilize the defining feature of the system and it truly was innovative in how it was used in some games and greatly made up for lacking resolution. One day I will make a hardware mod for the 3DS that replaces the screens with HD 3D displays and just plain replace the hardware with far more powerful hardware that can output 3DS games at 60fps in this higher resolution with 3D on. This is a dream of mine and I will hold onto it and complete it one day. Also, yes, the gamepad was very comfortable and had a great feature set. It was only really lacking with the weak rumble. Thank you. The extra screen real estate was also great. Pikmin 3 is the definitive Pikmin experience on that system with the Gamepad as a strategy hub and pointer controls with the Wii Remote. IR Pointer > Gyro, fight me

It's kind of ironic that Breath of the Wild broke the Zelda formula just for Tears of the Kingdom to be an almost note-for-note copy of what Breath of the Wild did. You wake up in a mysterious, unknown location. A ghost king guides Link at the start of the adventure. The first four shrines grant the core abilities. The entire region is a playground to get accustomed with the core abilities. There is a cold biome, requiring the player to cook peppers or wear warm clothes. Once you get off of The Great Thingy, you are directed to go to the four regions to solve whatever problem they have. The main dungeons are in basically the same places as they were in the last game. It felt like the whole game was just running down a checklist of what Breath of the Wild did.

I already have more hours on tears of the kingdom than botw, I barely explored botw so everything being copy and pasted doesn’t really affect me. I do understand if it does for the people who beat botw. I hope that we get a new Zelda game with more open areas than old Zelda games but not a huge empty world like the new Zelda games

I only see it as smash 4 deluxe. World of light is the worst single player mode in a smash game. I will say that smash ultimate is the best party game the switch has to offer though.

Responding to each opinion 1. While I do believe that in terms of original content the switch wasn't quite as good as the wii u and 3ds until recent years, it has a fantastic retro line-up still ongoing (but its gonna suck when they shut down the service) and the Hybrid concept is awesome. 2. Yes. The Wii u is the most underrated console ever. 3. Snes isn't the best but n64 is the most overrated imo despite it having a better game library than the snes. 4. Odyssey is a great first experience but it feels very empty after that. 5. Yes. Sunshine is an absolute classic. 2nd best. 6. I haven't played super paper mario and I'm not interested in it. 7. Haven't played origami king. 8. Mario kart 8 has always been my favorite mario kart since I first played it. 9. Breath of the wild is the second worst 3d zelda game. Yeah aside from the exploration (and in my opinion the dungeons) it's somewhat lacking in basically everything else zelda. 10. Tears of the kingdom is a major improvement. The story is pretty good to me and there are some really cool puzzles throughout the game. And the bosses are incredible. Not the best but much better than breath of the wild. 11. Minish cap ain't bad. It's definitely not the best though. It does some really cool things but everything feels cramped into a small game. Not a game I would replay very often. Also oracle of ages is great. 12. I'm gonna be real. Wind waker is my favorite nintendo game and second favorite game of all time. I can't say much because it would take way too long for me to explain why this game is excellent. 13. I agree that Skyward sword is a great zelda game. If tears of the kingdom isn't my 3rd favorite 3d zelda then this is. 14. Sure smash bros ultimate isn't the most fresh experience but aside from the impression the game is loaded and is easily the definitive fighting game. 15. I mean how much more can they do with smash bros that isn't 3rd party? But yeah I do agree that smash should remain focus on nintendo. 16. I dont really care. 17. I haven't played pokemon legends arceus. 18. Haven't played scarlet and violet. 19. Wii sports. Again I haven't played it. 20. I never thought kirby games were easy but I haven't played the switch kirby games. 21. I only recently played metroid prime but i still haven't finished it. I find it to be quite interesting and the world is good but its not necessarily the best gameplay. I very much prefer the gameplay of most of the main saga aside from the original and zero mission. 22. I never played a xenoblade game and I probably never will. 23. Again never played Star Fox zero but it reminds me of star fox 2 which is my favorite star fox game so I'm interested in it. 24. We gotta stop talking about games I've never played. 25. I dont even want to say it. 26. Older pikmin games had better environments. 27. Yeah gyro is brilliant. Aiming in games has always been annoying and gyro really helps with that. 28. I really never understood why people hated the 3d. It really looks good and it never gave me a headache. Unfortunately I can't use it anymore because I broke the screen on my 3ds. 29. The wii u gamepad is the single greatest concept for a console only brought down by the fact that you need to be in a very close range of the console to be able to use it, often resulting in just sitting on the floor. 30. I dont really mind but but the bumpers were better on the older controllers.

What is your favorite Nintendo system if it isnt the Switch or SNES, which are easily Nintendo's top 2 gaming systems, which is almost unanimous opinion those are the top 2? If it's Wii U or Gamecube, then you should have included that opinion because that is about as unpopular as you can get.

I wouldn't say it's unanimous, and I really don't think the gamecube is unpopular at all, it's definitely top 3 behind Switch and SNES. I also did include the Wii U in this video for the first two segments, but I wouldn't say the Wii U is better than the Switch. If I had to rank all their consoles, for first party output, it'd be something like this: GC > 3DS > Switch >/= Wii = Wii U > N64 > DS = GBA > SNES > NES = GB(C) > VB. (If the Wii U never existed, I would have put the Switch in first place/tied with Gamecube)

I think you really need to give a good look through of the gamecube's library though. I don't think the gamecube really suffered any droughts, the launch lineup was great, and the releases never slowed down until the Wii. Compared to 2016, 2018 and 2020 which were pretty bad. Considering it was only a thing for 5 years, it's insane looking at the number of games Nintendo released back then. 2 Pikmin games, 2 Metroid games, 2 3D pokemon games, 2 Star Fox games, 2 3D Zelda games, and a 2D one, the first 3D FE game, Animal Crossing international release. The fan favourite Paper Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, Smash, Metroid, F-Zero etc. games. And all the experimental titles like Eternal Darkness, Donkey Konga, Jungle Beat, Custom Robo, Chibi robo, Air Ride, etc.

It's time for Nintendo and Capcom to embrace their quirks and charm, and collaborate for what could be the best fighting game crossover event ever. No more Marvel vs. Capcom, since woke Disney poisoned that apple (get it?). Hell, the fourth game might include the new Marvel characters like Kamala Khan, America Chavez, Ironheart, and Jane Foster Thor. I agree about the SSBU DLC. A third of the DLC was comprised of Square Enix characters. No rep from Capcom was featured even. What was that shit about?

Here's my take: pokemon was never that good, you're just nostalgic. I'm sure gen 4 was good when it came out, but in 2023 the game is abysmal. The combat is painfully slow and boring, the story is, well its a pokemon game so it's mediocre. The art is good I suppose, but that's about it

I think gens 1-5 are pretty good for what they are, and hold up to this day - but I agree in the sense that there's a load of potential this series could have that just has never been met because of the low budgets and small development teams. The battle system is good imo, but a lot of the games definitely make it too slow and easy.

My hot take is that Mario 64 is probably the most overated Nintendo game of all time. I seriously don't get what people love about it. The game's physics and controls feel super akward and clunky, the camera is awful especially in enclosed spaces, many of the stars are overly criptic, boring or frustrating, the bosses are super mediocre, the 3 measely power ups are just kinda meh, Peach's castle is probably one of if not the worst hub-world in any 3D Mario and I cannot express enough how dumb of an idea the 100 coin stars are. I can appreciate how unique the game is and it can be a fun sometimes but overall it's probably the 2nd worst 3D Mario, right behind the bugy, lazy, unpolished mess that is Sunshine
