Glad you made it to Aswan. I would like to point out that the $300 a night has to do with you showing on the same day. If anyone reserves a room weeks, if not months ahead, you could probably get it for as low as a $100. Basically the same in any hotel. Regarding the change issue, I won't justify it but I can explain. In Egypt, vendors don't tend to carry small changes and lazily round up any expenses or compensate you with a cheap item if it was a store. It has become so commonly accepted among Egyptians that we tend to forget not to do that with foreigners. Definitely you should complain about it though, as they kept you waiting for nearly half an hour and that's unacceptable.

This video was very nice to see. The grounds looked amazing and so lovely that they take care of animals there for the lives of them. The hotel needed a bit of an update sure but still seems totally ok for a night. Too bad about the weather being too cold for a dip. Stay safe and stay cool 🌟🌴🙌🥳

Hello Chris, nice! I had the opportunity to visit Aswan once in 2021, but I stayed in a beautiful 4 stars hotel called Obelisk_ Nile Hotel. I stayed for 3 nights. No complaints about the service or other things. Before Aswan, I was in Luxor, then to Aswan I took a day tour from Luxor to Aswan. During the ride, I visited the temples in between both cities, also I had the chance to see the landscape and small villages. Then in Aswan we had lunch and finally the hotel. Everything was around 12 hours. Then I flew from Aswan to Cairo. Stayed at the airport to fly to Hurghada for my last week. In Aswan: obelisk, Nubia Village among other places to go. Ah!! a nice swim in the Nile River. I went in August( summer). Love Abu Simbel.
