i guess that’s why it’s burnt because the level is not changed, the setting from bread to bagel was changed but the level from 3 was not changed,,, try level 1 or 2 then the bagel won’t be as burnt as it is in level 3.

If you do a different setting start with a control of 1- the English muffin might be better on the 1 setting vs the 3 on bread

Any appliance jammed with electronic components just means much higher chance for breakdown. They all malfunction after a few years. My last simple toaster / fryer lasted 17 years. Ill take that any day over gauranteed headache in a few years.

If you are talking about the english muffin, do you mean to tell me that they aren't supposed to be blackened like Louisiana style fish are blackened? If not, I guess that my toaster has to be dialed back! That would probably make my blackened fish sandwiches taste much better. By the way, trying to toast hotdogs with my toaster really didn't work that well. I suppose that my experimentation since my wife died has turned out some really weird and untasty stuff, as far as me and my toaster and I go. I blame my toaster for all of that ... But I forgive it, since it has been working for the past 4 years since Angie passed away, without failing or burning my house to the ground. At least not yet ...

You have to use the power level and sensor cook features to really compare a microwave. Inverter microwaves like Panasonic has are good for this because they modulate the magnatron wattage as opposed to just turning it off and on during the cooking.
