my custom 300 win mag loves my handloads with sub .5 groups but LOVES fed fusion 180 grain , sub .5 groups when I do my part .and that is sweet for a factory load even with different lots . its mind boggling. glad I bought about 50 boxes around 8 years ago when they were available . cant find them at all in the crazy world we live in now . the factory in Lewiston Idaho states they are running at top speed to supply but nothing EVER reaches the shelves SO ...........who the hell knows

Uh... I'm old. Things kinda fly right by me. It's part of the process and I just put up with it. Albeit, though I'm familiar with most of the weights and measures of most of these brands and loads, I have no idea what grain or what specs, or what Black Hills. I have become a believer in Hornady Precision Hunter, especially for 6.5 Creedmoor. But the Black Hills is intriguing. Please feel free to treat me like an addled old man as I'm quite married and used to it. But, while you're at it, please tell me what Black Hills 300 Win Mag load I'm shopping for? Thank you.

What makes it a sniper rifle is the operator on the trigger. Sniper rifles are always zeroed in the prone and not a bench. Chasing the point of impact with the paper target was bizarre. Zero the 220 then measure the impact spread with all the other brands and note the temperature, altitude, lot # . Your lingo threw me “Chambered in MK248mod1”, it’s chamber is 300 win mag, battle rifles are not designed to shoot 1 specific round great, it’s what separates them from the PRS or grandpa’s deer rifle. The MK248mod1 220 grains round is a 30 cal Sierra bullet, Berger hybrids are not SAAMI approved, makes it slightly longer with a better G7 BC, will fit in AI mags with badger bottom. MOD1 220 is an extension of the MOD 0 190gr. Translation, 400-600 of greater effective range, don’t confuse it with MAX range. Anytime I see MARK13 on bolt rifles, I think barrels. As for Vortex, I don’t believe it’s any US branch or international marksman’s choice of optic, PRS guys love vortex..

I own several AI's and that does not look like that is an AI build rifle. It looks like a Remington in an AI chassis. Am I wrong? Aside from that, love your videos. Please put an AIAX 6.5 in that vise, would be nice to see what my rifle could do without me interfering with its potential.

It's a MK13. I believe SOCOM contracted them with aiax chassis, r700 reciever, and lilja barrel in 300wm. This one has a proof barrel but otherwise appears to be a mk13.

Well I'm seeing this a year latter, & my bare-bones Savage 111LRH in. .300wm, just ABSOLUTELY loves Corbon factory ammo - consistently shooting sub 1/2" MOA @ 100 from my HYSKOR rest & with my hand loads of BARNES LRX scooting along at 3,202 fps @ a 100yds, from my rest, I can print smaller groups, conditions being just right,, with all that being said, I would truly like to try one of your tests. And - I have a VERY important question for you all,,,, why does a person have to spend $$$$1,000.00's$$$$$ of dollars on a set up, when there are off the self EVERYDAY rifles out there capable of doing the same thing & in some cases better ????????????????
@gearhead6820102 жыл бұрын
I had a Savage 110 chambered in 7mm Remington Mag that would shoot I’ll say sub moa at 200 yards with run of the mill Winchester 150 grainers, you’re absolutely correct about people spending money needlessly on overpriced garbage called “precision” these so called accuracy guys kill me when they talk a good game about a garbage overpriced piece of shit weapon

Are you doing any barrel prep or cleaning between ammo types? If not, to be fair you should clean between ammo types and do longer shot strings 7-8 rounds and throw out the first 1-3 rounds for fouling.
@thereloaderscloset90962 жыл бұрын
Good vid but did notice the recoil of the rifle moved the gun holding device and you did not perfectly center back on the same place every time. With the 165 you were getting it back to the same hold more consistently but it grouped much worse. I think that gave you a bigger group on the 150 than expected from your ammo. But its interesting to see what the different ammo will do with a gun like that. Keep the coming. On that 200 grain ELSX you could defiantly hear the wind on the 2 shots to the left.

so to be clear THIS IS NOT A MK 13 MOD anything navy seal sniper rifle. it has a proof bbl not a lilja. it does have a stiller action and a ai stock....does not make it a mk13...esp with a vortex scope as the mil uses a nightforce 5-22x originally and now the ACTAR/.

if it is a mk 13 mod 7 and up chambered for the mk248mod1. then it aint really fair to say it is a 300 win mag, the mk248mod1 is 3.5" vs 3.34 for 300 win mag, pressure is 68k much higher than a 300 win mag. look similar, ain't the same

I ran the numbers and where I am in Canada in 2022, this video would have cost $958,421.98 in ammo.
Finally! A shooting video I can actually watch! Great Video Guys! So much better that watching some old fatty, or some young millennial tweaker squatting in the dust falling asleep waiting in agony for them to FINALLY pull the freaking trigger! A REAL test! Only thing that could have better is IF it was a completely windless day. I'm gunna go out on a limb and believe that Wind Changes caused a lot of the variations, and that many of the lighter bullet groups could have been slightly smaller.
@7071t63 жыл бұрын
why are you moving the target to where the other bullet impact point was from the last shoot, its mixing up your data, it should be totaly different targets for each manufacturers projectiles / bullets, DO not move the target impact or bull to the last bullet impact points, now you have no idea what's going on, meaning that each manufacturers is either having direct hits on bull or its missing by 6" at each different manufactures bullets fired?

Don't move your target. JUST leave it in one place, must be a college thing, your rifle cant hit center so move your target= DISLIKE = now you shoot the target from a stand position.
@robertsmithsr53583 жыл бұрын
ant that is a 1500 yard rifle with the correct lilja bbl and a nightforce scope. looks like this test is at 100 yards...what a waste of time and ammo ( i have made 1790 yards with a berger 230 and rl26)
@SteveZ9193 жыл бұрын
If you have enough ammo...any shot isn't impossible. If a gun doesn't have a tight group at 100 then it doesnt matter how it groups any further, doesn't matter if it's a 22 or a 50bmg.

Understand but this is real world test that can be duplicated by you . No special formula. You can use the data as a starting point to design your loads. AI also said this is correct test for that model. Please keep in mind the military and service rifles don't shoot factory they shoot the mil spec ammo we used in this case it was from black hills. Not our first rodeo. And thank you for the comment and concern.
@7071t63 жыл бұрын
LOL your aiming right at the bull and it looks like their target is less than 100 yards away and you cant hit the bull LMFAO i think you need to make sure the gun is ZEROED in 100% first and the scope as well, looks like she is at least 5 mil way down to low based on the scope dope? Still its the best way to test so called MOA results on a test bench like that, so that the only factor will be distance and or heat, but at 100 yards then she still should be hitting the bull if she is zerored in preoerly no iffs of buts mate?
@fivex47563 жыл бұрын
They are checking for ammo with best pricision first, then using that ammo will zero later. The scope reticle is moa and second focal plane and calibrated for 40x. I did not hear it mentioned what power the scope was set at but I will guess 15 - 20x. Also what you saw was the different impact points for the different ammo, which is good to know.
