hey there rich, i left a comment on this video before about how i wanted to get into the old book hobby, and i realized that in my mom's basement we had a whole bookshelf of over 100+ books dating from like 1980s to 300 years ago! inside of some of the front covers there's even drawings my ancestors left which gives even more weight to them since my own past blood has touched the books. thank you very much for opening my eyes to this hobby and i'm so glad that my family kept so many old books throughout the centuries!
@LetsFindOut12 жыл бұрын
that's amazing your family has kept them for so long! i can't even date my family lineage more than 150 years ago. thats a beautiful thing to have such a tangible connection to your family. im so glad i could spark an interest V. take care and thanks for the great comment

I found great child's book at garage sale from early 1900s. It was inscribed from grandma to granddaughter. The wealthy family was easy to find, and even had a family "museum". I called and offered the book to them and they could have cared less. 😢 (I still have it) Another time I found a baby book with locket of hair and completely filled-in from late 1800s. I found a niece who was thrilled to drive an hour to come get it! So happy you're happy about your discovery!

I like hearing stories and history as i go to sleep. Its much better than the one sided conversations that most channels tent to lean on for most of their content. Plus i have dyslexia so its extremely hard for me to actually sit down and read a book on my own as it gets frustrating to read a sentence and have to go back over it to make sure that i read it correctly it takes the fun and rythem out of reading. Its much easier to listen along and read behind you if that makes any sence.

I don't know what it is i'm not an astrologist or any kind of mathematician. I do and always have had a deep fascination with history overall and old books like that really do it for me. That's a shame so many people out there are trying to erase our history just because it hurts some feelings. mankind overall is not the nicest species to say the least. But the discoveries we've made in much older times with the most bare bones instruments. Mind blowing stuff
