Hi Joe, I have been following you for quite some time now, and watching your videos on the 992 Touring has been very emotional for me. In the next few months, I'll receive a 992 GTS (in production phase at the moment) as a result of many years of hard work. After waiting so long, I can finally fulfill my young boy's dream, and I couldn't agree more with your saying in the previous video about the 992 Touring that hard work does pay off. I hope to meet you one day and invite you to drive in the beautiful mountains of Switzerland. Thank you for the excellent videos and enjoy the ride !

Dear Mr Achille - Another perfect video about one of the best cars ever made. Thank you for that! Only one thing is a little sad - the last emotional video was fine, only some "creature" wrote me as "you" and tried to steal my money (and I admit that they managed to steal some change) because I was supposed to "win" Apple computer... Beware of this human garbage - they can do a lot of damage to your reputation. They appeared on Telegram and disguised themselves very well! Happy New Year 2023 and many safe travels and successful videos!

Yeah, not a big fan of the gear switching skills though. Rev it, the engine can handle it. There is no need to gear up when you can see the next corner right in front of you. Once you start lifting your foot off the gas you'll be decelerating and can ease on the brake.

@@leonardonickel1217 in my opinion the most scenic part of the road is when you reach the altitude peak ( 2000 meters) and some few km before and after this point is where the road/views are the best. Enjoy.😊

Subscribed! This is the first vid of yours I have seen (I have been to the ‘main’ vid of this trip and back again) and just have to congratulate you on a tremendous piece of work. In terms of conveying how it would feel to own and/or drive the Touring, this is simply the best of anything that’s out there. Dramatic cinematography, every angle of a darting GT3, musical top-end revs are all good (and they were very good) but the freewheeling chat with Patrick was also as engaging as it was enlightening. Bravo - best wishes for 2023, and may your brilliant work keep feeding your channel’s success.

This sort of vlog involves an enormous amount of work. That one shot from the top of the hill down onto the road must have taken a lot of time to set up. Setting the camera up, then driving all the way down to the bottom and coming back up, and hope the camera doesn't crap out on you in the middle of the shot. I can't believe it takes 20 hours to cross the channel to Spain. Happy New Year, Joe and Patrick!

Test drove a 991.2 GTS three times against a 992 C4S, the 992 GTS wasn’t available yet, I bought a new well optioned 992 and have no regrets. I kept coming back to the 992, the refinements in power and handling were just too hard to pass up. I did finally get a chance to drive a 992 GTS many months later and still don’t regret the C4S purchase. Porsche did such a great job with the Carrera models that I don’t think people understand just how good a car they are. Trust me if you are in the market for one of these, drive the Carrera S models a couple of times against the GTS. I think you will find the added $$$ just to say you have a GTS just aren’t worth it, unless that is you intend to sit on it as an investment.

I dunno what it is about the 911 shape, but no matter how many Ferrari's, Lambo's, McLarens, Koenigsegg's, or whatever I see, it's always 911 for me. I took a similar drive recently in the US in the M2C. Similar vistas across Arizona to California. I'm sure you had an absolute blast. You never forget these.

This is why I appreciate what Sam does on his channel when he’s doing it all himself normally to produce such high quality clips. Not that having help isn’t great. The work some utubers put in to produce content like a 9 day trip. Not that Porsche (Reading) giving you such a Car for a few thousand miles through Europe is a hard life, but the time and effort needed to produce what can be only a 20-30 minute clip at times after the edit outstanding. If I won the lottery I’d probably go Porsche as it’s a safe bet and a big enough step up from my MINI Cooper 😂. Sad trips like this costs so much makes my three days trip from Glasgow to London and back cheap think I was £120 fuel.

Hi Joe - enjoyed both videos. I recently got my Touring but think I answered some of your criticisms with folding 18 way seats, pdk gearbox and ceramic brakes. You can throw away the centre cup holder and put an insert in its place. I shall be driving on a Euro tour in 2023, though more in France, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium. The GT3 is sensitive to both tyres and geometry and Centre Gravity set up my friends GT3 and transformed the handling, they also did the same with my TurboS and surprised me what a difference seemingly small adjustments can make. All within Porsche's tolerances. So we suspect that the blue GT3 and silver Touring press cars were set up differently, hence the journalist's views on the feel of the cars. I haven't had the chance to run mine in yet so am looking forward to some epic road trips myself.

I have a 2022 911 Turbo S with P Zero tires. I believe the recommended tire pressure is 38/48. When the tires get warm the rears could hit 55 PSI. I checked with my dealer, they said I could lower the pressure for everyday driving. I went with 34/40. Made a big difference in ride quality. Not so harsh. I did get a low tire pressure warming on the rear tires. In the PCM you change the TPS monitoring to a comfort setting, and the warning went away. That maybe why the ride difference btw the wing and touring model.

Nice Review! Concerning your niggle „no individual mode“ at 48:30: You can individualize all modes e.g. Sport with different things like auto blip or open exhaust valves but you cannot individualize the standard mode. In the manual it is described how to do the individualization. But every time you start the car, the standard mode ist set and you have to switch to Sport so a little effort is still needed to get the car into your preferred configuration.

Such a great car - and what a fine drive! Thanks for sharing this. "Touring" is a bit of a misnomer, yes? Enjoyed the video. I have a 992 GT3 Touring and have done about 7500 miles in it so feel able to comment on your views. For longer trips the seats are rather unforgiving and the fact that they don’t give access to the rear is an issue if you want to use the big empty space in the back. It is also quite loud in the cabin. Other than that its a brilliant car.

So, great roadtrip to wonderland on wonderoads in a wondercar. Lucky both of you ! Great stuff and I totally share your enthusiasm. You are absolutely right about the irritating niggles. It seems strange that nobody at Porsche did road testing in a manual car with a mug of coffee… And the only option for storing soft packs in the back is to go for the electric adjustable (excellent) Sport seats which are efficient and arguably make sense on a GT3 Touring. Apart from the budget needed to acquire one - assuming you are on the list - the main problem with the GT3 Touring is that in certain countries where law enforcement is extremely severe, it would be very near impossible to exploit the wonderful 4.0 liter flat-6 and the 9000 rev limit without waking up in prison. Hence the choice of more reasonable 911s for some, such as the GTS. But still, the GT3 Touring is and always will be a much coveted sports car by many. And it is simply gorgeous as well. Thanks for sharing your roadtrip impressions ! 👍

Nice video Joe Achilles. I am going to venture a guess that the suspension feels harder on the gt3 winged version because of the higher downforce it produces which pushes the car down. This downward push compresses the springs making them stiffer as the car travels at speed.
