$3000 Video Game Found At My Local Flea Market!

I ended up selling the game for $3000 on eBay, ungraded. It sold in 10 minutes! I did so because I was afraid the hype surrounding it will die down soon after the recent television appearance. The buyer told me he would have it graded, so I think he'll do really well regardless if he sells it himself. Still was a really cool experience that I doubt will ever happen again.

You made a good decision, sell when the hype is high. Not to mention that $200 Sealed sticker would have probably affected the grading tremendously considering if you tried to peel it off and it ripped the plastic.

Great find! That's incredible to find out at a flea market. And you're right, you have to keep grinding. I had a slow week or two, then hit big at a small yard sale that wasn't even posted! (3) 10k gold rings, well over an Oz. of gold, and I only paid $6 for all 3! The deals are out there, gotta stay steady and always looking.

I saw that pawn star video a week or so ago and didn’t even know a sealed copy was worth that much. Wata loves manipulating the market though and that’s been the knock on them so I’m not sure if those seeking thousands now will stick in the long run but I would quickly grade and sell while it’s hot before it decreases.

That’s my thinking as well. It’s hard to judge the value of it as there isn’t a good history of sales for it, but the wata expert dude said $25k which is obviously wrong haha

It's actually not worth that much. It's a artificiality inflated price. Pawn stars brings on the representative of WATA games. WATA along with heritage auctions sell and buy their own products to artificiality inflate the market. Along with going on pawn stars and drastically overvaluing items. But that being said there will be some suckers out there who will pay up on those inflated price games. So if it were me I'd go ahead and sell it ASAP. For the price will most likely drop.

Very nice episode. I've said it before your camera view when recording is fantastic. A lot of youtubers pan the camera far too low. You only see half the items on the table. Nice pickups especially the polaroid cameras.

I didn't know sealed games could be this high for such sold games, the sold/opened ratio is very high, hence the scarcity of sealed ones... It's crazy how much influence TV has, i have doubts its price will remain this high but there's no doubt you made a crazy purchase right here. Its all about not giving up and some luck!

Who would you want to do the grading is one better then the other worth more then the other?

WATA grading is who I’m going with simply because they are owned by Heritage Auctions and sell for higher prices than any other company. I know they have a bad rep and have shady dealings but collectors prefer them unfortunately.

I own several sealed Xbox games and the seal and labels are all exactly the same on the halo copy. The y-fold thing can be faked though as well as the side sticker, so it isn’t full proof. But the seller had probably 50+ sealed games as he had bought out a sealed game collection recently with some insane titles. They were all eBay priced except this one which was mispriced. I didn’t mention all that in the video. But when I send it in to get graded they’ll verify it. I’ll update once I get it back.

Just look on eBay at the sealed prices sold listings for First Print run copies. Collectors are weird and will pay a premium for a rare variation of certain things. First Prints aren't all that rare granted, but to find a sealed one is.
