I just picked up my '94 3000GT SL a few days ago, manual trans DOHC, manual crank sunroof. I think it's the same color as yours (caracas red) but the clear coat on mine is completely gone so the color is off. Anyway, i''m gonna pull the engine and trans and rebuild them both and the interior is in excellent shape. I can't wait get it on the road. 11:1 compression with a turbo sounds crazy. Cool to know I can make considerably more power than the VR-4 variants in my SL, gives me inspiration instead of fixating on not having a VR-4.

@@XxXBananaCop17XxX oh wow, dang now Im confused. I know it depends on the wheel but I ordered 265/35/18s that are on their way but the feedback from another 3Kgt owner was that 265s rubbed with a 38 offset he has avid 1 a6

@@christiannieto9552 Yes I believe the type of wheel can vary with some clearance areas but the offset should usually be the same. I’m also on stock-ish suspension. KYB stock replacements with 3SX Vogtland lowering springs. However, coil overs are on the way!

For me, it was a little north of $10k. But I fully rebuilt my engine which alone was roughly $6k.

I’m running 11psi right now. As long as you have a good tune, there shouldn’t be an issue.

@@XxXBananaCop17XxX I just really want to know about Intercooler placement, u did rear mount them so the lines run throughout the bottom of the 3k, do u have an intercooler mounted close? and do u have necessary shields for your turbo not to be destroyed.. I guess what I’m asking is how you did it?

@@jnmech5860 So with the turbo by the rear wheels, the intercooler piping does run the length of the car to the intercooler. I have the intercooler mounted up front like a traditional FMIC. I have heat wrap on my exhaust piping and gold heat reflect wrap on my intercooler piping underneath the car to keep the heat transfer down.

My spark plug gap was too big and we were getting spark blowout under boost. Had to gap them tighter which made a world of difference.
