Grease is perfect for gaskets. Sealant is a damned nuisance, and dry gaskets don’t work too well. CVs are one of Britpart’s best components, at very good prices.

Hi mike, great vid by the way. The question i have is brake pipes, mine snapped when i did the bearings as i moved the calipers out of the way, so i bought an automec kit, should i have used steel or is the copper/nickel pipes OK? thanks
@BritannicaRestorations4 жыл бұрын
Copper Nickel all the time for me!

Hi Mike, unrelated question if I may... how to go on about stamping the chassis number on a new Marsland (Genuine Land Rover) galvanised chassis we got changed on our 300Tdi three years ago? I did the job back in the UK and had no problems back there, now in France and in the process of importing our Landy, we have all proof & photos of chassis swap with number plate and documents from DVLA and UK police car is not stolen and belongs to us, also Marsland receipt with date and my name on it. Wrote to Land Rover France and no answer. Cheers if you feel like answering, Richard.

what is the thread on your funky shaft puller? I can never find a bolt to fit!

7/16" BSW (British Standard Whitworth) - 14tpi. I use a 7/16 UNF just to get the first few threads

Hi Mike could the missing wheel nut cause the vibration
@BritannicaRestorations4 жыл бұрын
I thought about this, but the mass would be too close to the centreline of the axle so it would not have a drastic effect like a lead weight on the rim edge

...did you check the railko bush/ top bearing?
@BritannicaRestorations4 жыл бұрын
Everything seemed tight and rust free - I did pull the pin as it was a bearing seemed fine
@nickboylen68734 жыл бұрын
Good suggestion - low swivel preloads can cause the “death wobble”.
@GrumpsBarn4 жыл бұрын
...fair enough Mike, I just recalled that you were going to check them
@greebo78574 жыл бұрын
With those tyres, a worn tie rod end and shock bushes could easily cause a vibration.

I hope your customer watches these videos and realises how much dough you've saved. The innards of the Landrovers you fix always look like the workings of a Swiss watch when you've finished with them.

This is why I do them so they can see their vehicle worked on and they cannot say I didn't to it - covers my bottom, to be polite I cut a lot out of videos on here but I film just about everything! (just in case!)
