They have so many good Christmas songs! You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch (from last year- so good), This Christmas, The First Noel, O Holy Night. But Christmas music aside, you guys should really react to The Halo Theme (Geoff’s lowest recorded note!) or their most recent Wicked Medley, which is a beast of an arrangement with two featured guests.

I first found VoicePlay a couple of Christmas’ ago when I saw the thumbnail for their ‘You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch’. I was hooked by their sense of humor. As you pointed out, the arrangements are so layered & complex.They put little subtle humorous bits that can go unnoticed, so one needs to watch more than once, also they stick stuff in AFTER the song ends, so don’t be too quick to click off. Like VoicePlay, you all have a great time doing your thing 👏🏻👌🏻 enjoy all the holidays, stay safe and stay well. 😷😎✌🏻🤟🏻🖖🏻🤙🏻

I had forgotten about this one. Thanks for reminding me. Voctave, VoicePlay, and PTX have versions of “You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch” and it is fascinating to see the differences in how they tackled it. “Do You Hear What I Hear” (Home Free vs PTX) and “Oh Come, All Ye Faithful” (Voctave vs PTX) are more examples of how different the same song can become. I love that these talented groups can change up arrangements to make them unique and therefore, spectacular. Looking forward to all your reactions. And thanks to Ronny/Ronnie…

Knew you'd like this one! The reason I like VP better than any other a cappella group (and I claim being a Home Fry too) is the complexity of their arrangements. I hear new things every time I listen to one and they're always so layered. Eli's high note is G5 (maybe higher now) and Geoff is B0.

Hey guys. If you are looking for another Artist to add to your list, I would suggest The Hound + The Fox. They have a little more grass-roots feel and folk sound. Deserve more exposure IMO. They have some cool themed pieces. If you try them for the holiday season, I would suggest “All I Want for Christmas Is You”. If you want to try something non-holiday, “Wellerman” has a cool collaboration with a member of HomeFree.

No surprise that Layne did the arrangement. He is the zany one. I have watched this before and I know I must have had the most confused look on my face. Never saw Saw, so at least I have SOME sort of sanity to hold onto. I have never laughed so hard - your reactions were so funny. And I couldn’t help giggling when Earl’s beard bow jiggles as he sings.

I’m glad y’all got to this one. It’s one of my favorites but usually missed by reactors, which is a shame. Here’s a handful of suggestions to help y’all make it through the “20 Something Days of Christmas”: A few originals by Home Free: Cold Hard Cash, Warmest Winter, Snow Globe A couple of covers by Home Free that aren’t the usuals: Winter Song, Christmas in L.A. (this one is a music-only video, but the song is worth it) If you want funny: Home Free - Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer / VoicePlay - You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch If you want to be stunned: Voctave - O Come All Ye Faithful / Home Free - Do You Hear What I Hear There’s also a version of “What Child is This” on Chris Rupp’s channel that features him and the current line up of Home Free, and it’s phenomenal. I think it’s actually the only performance with all six of them together.

About your idea of putting a bunch of titles in a hat, pick two and make a mashup... There's a (almost) a cappella group here in Italy who DO that, live, in theatres 😁. They're really fun and creative. 🙂
@307Reacts Жыл бұрын
Wow, that’s amazing! Do they have a YT channel?? If so, would you please link it for us, and we’ll check it out for sure!
@DavideBaroni Жыл бұрын
@@307Reacts Yep, they do: www.youtube.com/@OblivionCanaleUfficiale Alas, most of their stuff is 1) in Italian, and 2) made of Italian stuff. But there is a, how to call it... Sub-channel that is dedicated to mash-ups. Scroll down their page and you'll find it. 🙂 I've seen them live three times, and one of them the show had a LARGE section dedicated to mash-ups. Hilarious, yet everything BUT easy to do. 😁 Of course, they came among the audience before the show and asked every one to write down the name of an artist on a paper and throw the paper in a bag... But I can't grant they didn't have another bag already prepared with the "right" papers, or even that they would TELL the audience the papers had X and Y names on them when it wasn't THAT true... But I can forgive them. They're so funny. 🙂 And check the section of their channel called "Cazzottissima" (named after "Canzonissima", a very old TV show with lots of singers that were famous at the time). That's not exactly easy to do either. 😁

Picking songs out of a hat for a mashup? I got one for ya, one that for some reason no one has done as far as I know, even though I've asked several reactors. When Chris Rupp left Home Free in 3016 one of the groups he moved on to is a 2 man/2 woman groups called 7th Ave. I love their video for Uptown Funk and also fell in love with their video mashup I Kissed a Girl in the House of the Rising Sun. The lead female singer on that one is Tristin Rupp, Chris and Adam's sister. I'd love someone's opinion on that one.
