I used to explore this area back in 1990/91 It used to amaze me the amount of timbers that had to be hauled in from a long ways! I imagine the saw mills made damn near as much money as the prospectors. Just insane the level of effort that was sustained to support this career field! Thanks for sparking the old memories of good times!

I saw a photograph of the mill. it was a gravity mill. each operation dropped the ore to the next step. the stamp mill was to the right of where you were standing by the Bull wheel. can't remeber if it was four stamp. I'm pretty sure it was. it was too grainy to see shaker tables or what they used to further separate the minerals. that one's on the list! Thanks for a preview and what will be needed. Always great to see you two exploring!👍

I was at Kean Wonder a number of years ago. I seem to remember a collapsing mill. It has been closed by BLM for upkeep. Probably the new flooring and safety wires. Its on the highway from Beatty. Sightseeing Sally went up to the mines. Quite a hike.

Great explore there Frank. I'm with you. They should have just dug a pit. You'd think somebody would have thought up a lock and cam set (?) to put your feet in and just pull your legs up. Lock. Then stand up. Kind of like leap frogging your way up. You could still have your hand one to assist when you needed it. But ....what do i know? Always looking for a better idea. I enjoyed. Glad you got to explore some of our national heritage before it's gone too. :-)

Cool crystal cache: nature's jewelry-box, love it! No surgery, but even mild past experience w/what we once jokingly called 'car-pool tunnel' syndrome reminds it's def no laughing matter. Owie gurl, that had to hurt! Perhaps Sharon hunkered down in that hidey-hole 'cause u caught her violating the right-hand rule? Nice drone footage - fascinating but potentially deadly landscape - u timed yr visit right.
