@@ddixalot Alina has dealt with travel costs for years. I haven't at all. One trip finished it for me. But that blocks me from perspective for what "value" is for the digital nomad. The only "value" for me was a better exchange rate in ATMs in foreign countries. I can't really recall paying for ordinary things abroad.

I just flew back from Ho Chi Minh city to London. Luckily a direct flight, however it was over 13 hours. I find aisle seats the best, you can get up without bothering other passengers and you can occasionally stretch your legs out in to the aisle from time to time. Luckily my flight was a night time flight too, so I managed to sleep the best part of 7 hours out of 13. Agree though long haul flights like that are never easy especially in economy.

I like alina’s awkward embarrassment when she speaks to her father, things that are normal to her and a strange new experience to Gordon like airport lounges, there’s always a nervous chuckling from Alina, touring with an old farmer across Asia is a fun experience, two different worlds in a different world from Canada, they get along well, looking forward to Asia tour 2 the sequel! Much love ✌️❤️🇬🇧

As fellow traveling Canadians, we just finished a flight from Vancouver to Johannesburg South Africa via Bangkok. To be fair we took a four day break in Bangkok between those flights, but that was the longest distance we’ve flown. The Vancouver Bangkok leg was 18 hours and the Bangkok to Johannesburg leg was about 18 hours, including a eight hour layover in Addis Ababa Ethiopia.

I’m thinking of escaping to the Maldives, but the 26 hour flight is really discouraging me. Have a wonderful trip Alina. Ps . Your father is the most adorable person. I work in Saskatchewan, and I love the people of Saskatchewan, especially the farmers. But it’s especially touching for me to see father and daughter travelling together. Glad to see your dad could join you! When you age, there’s no reason to sit around and wait to die when you can go out and enjoy life and your dad is also escaping the brutal Canadian winter. You guys couldn’t have picked a better time to travel to Hanoi and the cost of living in Asia is lower than its in Canada and many people have given up immigrating to the West or are returning home because its very tough to live comfortably in Canada. Nice hotel with the daily breakfast perk and you could unwind after that long flight and extended layover in Tokyo. Thanks for the video and looking forward to more during your stay abroad. Longest flight I did was Montreal to Aman, Jordan, about 11 hours. We switch plane and did 7 hours to Calcutta, then we did 3 hours to Bangkok. I thought it was not so bad. 5 years ago, we did 14 hours from Montreal to Shanghai, that was not so bad. The worst flight was flying back from Beijing, a 9 hour flight to Vancouver and then 5 hours to Montreal. I5 was so hot in the plane coming back to Vancouver, I had to get up and stretch my legs a dozen times. I now try to go to places that offer a direct flight of less than 6 hours.

Hope all your travels go well Alina. Yes, the airlines are squeezing the seats closer together to fit in more passengers. Recently we flew the red eye from Vancouver to Halifax non-stop on our return from the Yukon. Very uncomfortable. My longest flight was 14 1/2 hours to Sydney, Australia from San Francisco in 2012 which went well. But I am getting older and don't enjoy that kind of travel as much. You may as well take a cruise that starts in The Couver, goes up the coast to Alaska, across the Aleutians, down to Kamchatka/Petropavlovsk, stopping in Japan. Then another cruise from Japan to Nam. You arent in a hurry so may as well be relax and enjoy the trip on a boat.

It's so wonderful you are taking your father with you on your trip! My father and I are close as well and so I would love to do that with him, however, he wouldn't dare travel internationally nowadays with the craziness this world has to offer. But I WILL do it someday!

Hey, I used the same sunscreen and I liked it very much. I usually bought it off Amazon and been using it for more than 2 years 😂

Hi Alina, What a long trip. I think I also had a trip around 30h from door to door. It was back from Bali to Germany. And it hurt! I hope, You already recovered from this stress. I wish You and Your dad exciting and positive experiences on this trip. Best regards, Ralf
