Some of the best Marvel Rivals content on KZbin. So much value to gain from watching your videos. I went from never trying Venom to dropping high kill games with no deaths. Coming from FPS/BR games where I am normally 4KD player, it took me a while to find my niche in my first hero-shooter game. Venom perfectly fits my playstyle. Diving in, terrorizing back lines, popping symbiotic resilience, then dipping out is so frustrating for enemy opponents. I can only imagine the game-coms on the other team. Very fun to look at the scoreboard at the end of the game knowing you contributed to 60-70% of all the "squishy" deaths. Keep up the awesome work, Ares! Now the question is, do we grab that Winter Symbiote Skin?... :O

Question by backlines of course being in the back, the main people I'd usually be going after as venom would be healers, and DPS perhaps. I don't know if there's a situation as venom I should battle another tank 1 on 1 but I was just wondering since it seems you have some experience.

Yes, I'm referring to the healers and DPS (Hawkeye, punisher turrets, etc). I try to distract tanks more than anything. If your opponent's turn around to deal with you it makes space for your team. Try getting a pick or damage that makes them back up, then dip out. I try to make their DPS worry about babysitting their healers instead of focusing our support.

Hey, Ares, what do you think about some of the damage of his primary being taken off and put onto his base melee attack? This allows a juggle of the abilities and a faster first second dps upon drop. It ensures you can land attacks on close range targets while also relying on your tentacles for higher dps due to crits and midrange.

Clinical gameplay, specially on the second game. How do you guys feel about the incoming Venom nerfs and buffs ? He will lose his seasonal bonus health and get back to 650HP I think, but his ult is going to be stronger (75% of total HP instead of 50) and with the right combo I think you might be able to OS trough Luna ult. Also his symbiotic rsilience is buffed to.

Feel like the new symbiotic resilience doesn't really help him too much tbh. The improved ult could be good though esp with the "oneshot" combo. I feel like he needs to be more threatening when he dives rather than possibly being more tanky for a short burst which the new E might do for him. Maybe faster attack speed and/or a cleave trait like how mr Fantastic is gonna have it. I kinda want Venom to have an improved melee moveset (maybe even moving it to left click) and then his tendrils could be an alt fire instead, but thats probably never going to happen

He isnt going back to 650 hp yet cause the anchor bonus will still be there for next season not sure when he will lose it but if he still ends up underperforming then he probably will so a tiny bit more buffs

@@bobitogre If they have to boost his damage I think it would be better to either reduce the timing of Cellular corrosion to like 2 or 2.5 second, or to buff the movement speed reduction a little bit so its easier to HS heroes that don't have good movement abilities.

you want to use both! left stick hold forward for momentum and holding down is to slow down and turn around from 1 swing and right stick you go with whatever side you latched on to so left swing you look left for more momentum and right swing you look right for more momentum! Any advice for playing Venom in higher ranks? I was doing really well with him but the higher the rank I got the more my dives started to fail because people are a lot more protective of their back lines now. The second I touchdown the entire team switches their attention to me so it’s hard to leave with a KO after my dives. Any tips would be much appreciated (I’m a solo queue Venom btw)

I think at the higher ranks you kinda have to shake the habit and need of always chasing a KO whenever you dive, whats more important is being able to stay alive and keep fighting. If you dive and you get a KO or two great, but whenever you dive and the enemy team puts their attention on you that at least frees up some space on the map and time for the rest of your team to do work from the opening you made for em. In higher ranks too in my experience brawls where basically everyone is just waiting for a pick while everyone gets healed while teamfighting- Venom is not the best in those situations, don't fall into the trap of brawling with the tanks climb up a wall and consistently dive healers or disrupt poke dps like hawkeye, namor etc. Unlike tanks like Thor and Strange who have consistent damage in those big brawls, I find Venom should nearly always be disrupting the backline and then swinging back if needed to counter their own dive One thing thats really upped my performance and also enjoyment with venom is the proper timing for his ult and right click combo. Its basically pop right click first then ult, then wait until the circular timer for your ult is around half and then you pop ult hopefully in sync with your right click. If done properly should one shot squishies or put them in range of 1 melee or a few tendril shots.

Yeah, my issue was that I kept trying to secure KOs which kept me in the enemy back line too long because I had gotten used to playing like that in lower ranks where the teams are less coordinated. But now knowing that I shouldn’t stay back there to force a KO makes way more sense! And thanks for the ult tip, I’ve been doing it but your timing is better because it gives the people I target less time to react. Thank you again for the advice, it is very helpful!
