Thanks for posting! A 30x50 is my ideal shop with pretty much the same layout with ‘12 wides, except I’d probably go with a bit higher roofline to accommodate a vehicle on a lift and partition 1/3 of the shop for my man cave/shop. 😜

Glad it could give you an idea of space. Yeh 12' is tall for me but if i had done 14' walls I could have an upstairs. Good luck with your man cave portion, lol.

I used a local concrete guy to pour the shop, another slab for the building beside it and extend my garage parking. No plans for a lift as of now. Been working/ upgrading more motorcycles than cars here lately.

Long story but I had to build my own Carolina carports shop. I’m not sure I understand how the windows get trimmed out. The heads of the screws that hold the window onto the building cause a gap that the j trim sits against. Can you get me photos of what they did on your windows? They just fill the gap with caulking? Thanks.

I really like those rollup doors you have there. The fact that they don’t take up any of the headroom with brackets and tracks. How much more expensive are the roll ups versus the slide up track types? In a perfect world I wouldn’t care how much they cost, but this ain’t a perfect world🤣
@jamestijerina2787
@jamestijerina2787 Жыл бұрын
I'm sure each dealer is different and depends if you get the track doors with insulation. All the dealers I got quotes from didn't offer the track doors. I bought a 8x8 roll up for my gym for $630 and a track 16x8 garage door for about the same price. The roll up door so much easier to install, but it was smaller too.

I can tell a difference. Its not all done. All walls I've done (still have the left/right triangles to the roof to complete) and the roof I've done about 1/4 on each side. Turbine heater still runs often in 30-40 degree weather but its a big shop and heat rises. I believe when I complete the roof it will help alot. Roll up doors I have the bubble insulation and that helps as well.

How much for that and how much for the red iron building...this new style of building seems cheep but bill is alot...and red iron seems like people quit building/selling quality.. what happened to red iron buildings...or at least c channel steel. Fill me in buddy bc I'd like to build house out of a kit but low on $$..wanted bc was cheaper 10 years ago and no termites..I'm in Alvin Texas by Houston
@jamestijerina2787
@jamestijerina2787 Жыл бұрын
This was 18,500 2 years ago installed. I priced a red iron at that time and they were sold per order and delivered. I would have had ro have equipment to unload and assemble myself or hire someone to do it so the labor prices would be different for that in your area. I couldn't find someone in my area for a price I thought was fair so I went this route. Same company I ordered from came out and assembled. Red iron you can also get quotes with insulation. That was not an option on this type of building at my time of purchase that I seen.

@@jamestijerina2787 thank you for that info. I'm in Lancaster, CA. It's normally dry and hot here, so I probably won't have to worry about it much, but I do want to prepare myself in case I do have moisture. It seems like a metal structure is the most cost effective method, especially with such high lumber prices.

@@jimmycaddy584 metal buildings of texas. My only concern with then is they put the square tubing under the walk in door entry ways. I cut it out myself and lowered the doors. sorry it took so long to reply. Metal buildings of Texas. They did a good job minus the square tubing in the door walkway that I took out. Also their initial rendering was drawn with pen(without a ruler for straight lines). I submitted a better one that I made on Viking Steel Structures that submitted a diagram to the inch. I believe that's the one.
