You will find the house alot warmer when you get that Rock wool insulation finished. I find ever room i used it in my home doubles the heat retention and Rock wool has a fire resistant property that give me a safer feeling. Plus as i do soldiering around Wood joists and stud i will use the rock wool as a fire break between the flame and the wood. It' would be a plumbers best friend and keeping a piece in his tool box would help.

One more comment. A friend who burns wood has a large covered box on his porch to store his wood for the week. He usually fills it from his loader bucket from his woodshed 50 yds. away next to his barn. Since you no longer have your backhoe, you could make a sturdy wood or metal box that you could move with your track loader. Would save a lot of carrying firewood. Or do you intend to build a small woodshed close to the back of your house? Have you figured out how many cords of wood you will need for the winter? Have you looked for log splitters? Putting in a winter's worth of wood takes a lot of time and is tough on a persons back. Getting a log splitter up off the ground is a help.

I have not heard you mention closets for the bedrooms. I remember my stepfather building one for my sister's bedroom in the old farmhouse we bought. You will save on flooring if you make them now. I suppose you could build them on locking coaster wheels to move around. A closet is usually needed at the main entrance to store coats and boots and as a place for company to put theirs. An area is needed for wet boots that can be mopped. Bluestone is nice but more expensive than tile. At the back door, a small mudroom would be nice so you don't track mud thru the kitchen and as a place you can take off dirty clothes. A small closet would be handy here. Just a few thoughts from experience living on a farm. Laundry is handy in a mudroom also, perhaps a vertical apartment/mobile home washer and 110V dryer combo.

It was funny when you said it's not cold today and you were standing in lots of snow. Lol. I hope it doesn't flood when all that snow melts. In Dallas we might have snow for a day or two. Then it's gone. Zero snow this winter. Thank goodness. Also in Texas in the country there are very few codes for building.

Another mile stone Red!! Great job.. And I would agree.. You do nice work and you think and visualize your way through a project.. When we slow down and allow our selves to use our minds instead of just bulling our way through thing, difficulties that may arise in a project seem to become opportunities for creativity and keep the job rolling.. Just think of how awesome it's going to be once dry wall is all hung.. Not that you won't have heavy lifting in your near future.. But you will be able to rest your bones a bit and heal up as you work on finishes and roll along with spring time.. I bet your property just explodes with flowers and the trees when the buds pop open.. Just a blessing man... Your timing is perfect.. I'm so happy for you.. I must say you were making my anxiety high.. You were stressing over them inspections.. Haha.. Just keep going forward.. Do the footwork, and leave the results up to God .. Sorry for being all over the place.. This video sparked something in me and I started to think what it would be like in your shoes.. I'm not even close to starting my home, I'm just trying to cut back the over growth and make some order on our property.. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and for making these amazing videos.. You guys do a really good job with all the video in my opinion..
