I have to admit I'm a bit surprised. I expected to hear how you built this slowly over the course of 32 years. The fact that you are where you are in just about the last 12-15 years after all the adversity you faced is nothing short of amazing. Good on you for sticking with it and MAJOR props to your wife for supporting through the entire journey. Great story and thanks for sharing it.

I'd much rather give people like that my business because that builds good, long-lasting business relationships.

@@brolohalflemming7042 100%. I wish more people would stop confusing small business owners (Technically defined below 500 employees, but I'm talking below 50.) with "big evil" corporations etc. So tired of the anti-capitalist crowd thinking I pay myself $500K per year and give all my guys min. wage. It's more like the opposite. When I was starting off for the first 5-7 years, my guys made a MUCH better living than me and had to deal with 10% of the stress and half the hours. Never mind the fact the education they got. My guy who started off sweeping floors is now working at Moroso as a fabricator. He didn't pay a dime for that education from my "evil" self. lol

As a business founder and owner, I have to say that I don't understand that idea at all. Yes, you need to be able to pick yourself up IF you fail, but you don't need to fail to have success. I did not fail and the business I started with two others in 2003, now employs over 3000 people world wide, and is a publicly traded company since 2021. Many who fail can't get up, and the sad part is that sometimes they fail for reasons out of their own control. So it is absolutely not a must to fail and you need to avoid it, because it won't always make you better or able to succeed, far from it in fact.

This brought back so many memories of my early years, Steve. George Delorean. wowser. What a unique and cool guy. I am going to admit, I used to do a LOT of Street racing. I remember all the famous cars. The silver Bullet, the silver Mustang 2 Roush built with the 505 wedge, for Ruggirello, among others. We used to trailer our stuff up to 12 mile, and met at the old Clock restaurant, at 12 and Orchard Lake Road, and then race on the not yet complete part of I-696. We called it the Top End Club. I couldn't afford a decent trailer, just a tow bar back then, and George had a shop called Leader Automotive. He built my exhaust for my 502 big block Chevy in my 67 Camaro, which consisted of a right off the header collector 3 and 4 inch pipe, 4 Corvair Turbo mufflers ( 2 per side) , and dumping out just in front of the rear axle. The system was expensive, and was fabricated to fit each car and engine setup, and was expensive ( about 600.00 in 1977 dollars!) All the guys had this exhaust. Was not much power loss, because the engine tune didn't have to change. Last year, George passed. I ended up in the Clinical Engineering field, after my wife passed away, and I ended up a single parent. I truly enjoy all of your videos, but this one was the most honest and special yet.

What also is amazing to me is how you and your son both nearly died from the same type of accident and both are here to tell us about it. What a testimonial. Gosh dang, I've been following you for a few years. I remember when you had less than 50k subs. The growth that Cleetus has brought is so great! Also, glad to see you guys rep'ing Centroid. I'm a dealer for them, not the 5 axis machines, but everything else. God bless you guys!
