When she said her son hugged her and said "I love you mom" and her son's girlfriend brought her a blanket,i still can't fathom these people leaving her knowing she will be sleeping in the streets,I can't get my head around it honestly.

@@yellowdayz1800 Anything than going on with your life knowing your mom sleeps outside,a woman in GBV capital South Africa sleeping outside day in,night out,I can't fathom this! I have aunts I don't like whom I wouldn't let sleep in the streets.

She seems nice, but it still doesn't make sense to me. If my mother or my friend was sleeping on the streets in Cape Town, and I had no space, I would at least buy a mattress and let them sleep on the floor of my flat. I don't understand how her family and friends let her sleep on the streets.

Some people really have horrendous families. My so-called family members would have no issue with me being on the streets if it came to that. Which is why I never judge the homeless because I could have easily ended up like that.

You are an amazing soul. There are sooo many families living in their own bubble, some with entitlement attitudes who will see family in shelters or on the street. When you ask why don't you care their answer is "he/she deserves it they made the mistake" the number of homeless is climbing in SA, and more and more people on the streets are not druggies or alcoholics.

@jacques8290 Exactly! Where there's a will there's a way. Also, like she pointed out how different cultures and communities look after one another, whereas unfortunately with older whites, most of them generally get put in old age homes. It's so sad that Lara, being a very intelligent lady, finds herself on the streets. I hope and pray she gets help with at least finding appropriate accommodation.

Many people (including the fortunate whites) see the older homeless whites as if "something went wrong there" sort of thing. If you consider the previous government supposed to help it's own and whites were supposed to have been fortunate

Lara seems like such a great person.I would so much like to help her but i dont have my own place.Im in PE by the way.Its not nice to see anybody sleeping on the streets.Also this time she looks a bit stressed out.Hope she gets a proper place to sleep at least.My heart goes out to her.

I think I might have seen this lady at the robot - I never gave her anything - but I will make an effort to give her something - as I work in town - so I will make a detour and go give her something - some clothes ! I really wish someone could provide her a place to live - she really needs that more than anything - she is a lovely woman - and she looked after her dad - I really hope she can find a place to live - ! I will give her something - ile have a lookout for her this week ❤
