As a Filipino, it blows my mind to see so many similarities between Filipino cuisine and that of Indonesia. The Lupis is very similar to Suman sa Lihiya, both using sticky rice dipped in caramelized coconut cream. The Bika is same as our Bibingka. The same methods and components are used. Gudeg might be similar to our Ginataang Langka (Bisaya) but with a simplier ingredients of just coconut milk, vinegar, and young jackfruit. Babi Guling is equivalent to Lechon. Hello Indonesia, from the Philippines!

Another city in Indonesia that you need to visit is Medan in North Sumatera. You can try : 1. Bebek Kumango 2. Soto Kesawan 3. Lontong Kak Lin, 4. Taukua Heci (sunggal), ask for Mie Rebus 5. Mie Ayam Akong/Acim 6. Bihun Kari Tabona 7. Nasi Goreng Komdak 8. Kwetiau Akuang Sejak 1960 9. Bika Ambon Atik 10. Ucok Durian (if you like Durian), ask for Bitter Durian and Sweet Durian. So you can compare. And so many more because medan one of the best city with the food.
