If it made you smile, click like and share to Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and if you can relate, don't forget to show your parents! Lol x
Note: If you have young daughters, nieces, granddaughters, sisters or female cousins, this channel offers support on how to maintain a beautiful head of natural hair. Please subscribe or pass our channel on to someone you know could use the support. Let's teach our girls how to care for their hair so, when they're older, they'll know there are other options besides chemical processing :).
The Nigerian version reminded me a little of the Ghanaian parents I knew growing up, so of course I had to do a Ghanaian version! :)
I based this on the many amazing Ghanaian women I grew up around and of course on my beautiful mother, who is no longer with us. My fondest memories are of when she would have me do impressions of her to entertain her Ghanaian friends. She LOVED when I'd do an impression of her dancing (like at the end of this vid). She would literally be in tears, she thought it was hilarious!
There's nothing like a mum, wherever she's from, so please cherish her while you can.
Love to you all and thank you so much for watching and for your wonderful comments. I may not be able to respond to them all, but I've read each and every one. God bless xx

We are all one people, the accents may vary but this video PROVES that we are more alike than we are different. I have read almost all the comments and I can see how much joy this video brought to a lot of people including myself; it is wonderful that through video we can teach, learn, listen, laugh, cry, and reflect on our upbringing the way this video just did. Great job Nadine and God bless you all who watched the video and for those who commented.

OK, this is about the fifth time that I have watched this vid. and it gets funnier everytime and brings an even bigger smile to myface. there must be som "Master Class" that is being taught to Black Mothers. Girl the dance at the end, leaves me weak with laughter. My mother sworn that whatever party\event she was going to, she was going to bring the house down with her dancing. Brings back (now) loved memories of my mom. Thanks for doing this and sharing it with the world.

I loved this video, I have never been around anyone with Nigerian parents but find it absolutely hysterical that as it is said, parenting is the same the world around because my southern black mother had very similar sayings and parenting tactics, only difference is from what I am seeing, many of you actually wrote on the wall and lived to tell about it, in our home that would have warrented more than a "spanking"...lol!

On the phone w/ the noises (sucking teeth and what not) WHAT? LOL. I cracked-up at your facial expression at the end when you were dancing. SERIOUSLY, that is my peoples (Haitians). Wow many cultures are a lot alike.

My grandmother used to take a cooking spoon to us. She told us about walking to a from school, how we looked when we went out, if someone else ran in front of a bus, would we do the same thing, she also sucked her teeth, and said, uh, uh, uh a lot when displeased. I appreciate all the stories she told and all the time she took to help raise us. Grandmama in the house! and living in Ghana.
