I've worked out on traditional heavy bags kzbin.infoUgkxp9-sf95nqfjey-uyzxUzQ7m9MXRPK1BE a spherical stuffed "wrecking ball" bag, and now this thing. What I like about it is that it has the heft to stay largely in place so I'm not chasing it around. It's tall enough to allow for headshots and body shots, but it's short enough to give an uppercut somewhere to land. I'm very happy so far. Filling it was a bit of a cluster. For top-offs, I've learned that you can screw the supplied nozzle onto any basic plastic water bottle. I can't speak to durability as I've only had it a week.

Therefore the probability is some are actual boxes. I am no expert but have been doing boxing training for over 15 years and this guys form is a little dubious. I would advise anyone looking for a good boxing workout to check out either Nate Bowers channel or Precision Boxing's channel as well. The reason I am watching his video is it came up on my feed. I imagine the people you are critical of are in the same boat. Also this is the only comment I have made on this video. Always has to be the predictable guy sticking up for the creator of questionable content
@geraldbaggay2672
@geraldbaggay2672 6 жыл бұрын
Obviously this guy is a fitness guru not a technical boxer. He should not be taken seriously if you have plans to become a boxer. But one should not disparage him if you think his moves are mediocre. He’s not that horrible though. A lot of MMA fighters i know can get by with this rudimentary level of striking.

I just watched like 1 minute of this video from 5:00 and you can see his cross at 5:13 is delivered incorrectly in the first minute of me watching this lmao. He loads up his cross so much and his right shoulder telegraphs his cross coming from a mile away. And then on his second cross directly after, he doesn't even have the correct range. I'm sorry, but if you're trying to educate people whether it's 1 person or hundreds of thousands like this, then you have an obligation to teach them correctly. Especially when it's combat sports and people can get seriously hurt or die. The end.

A. The video claims to be a workout, not a study on boxing. B. Not once in the video does he ever claim that these moves will get you in the ring at even an amateur level. Lex does fitness videos, not fighter tutorials.

Jab -> Dont charge your punches; you roll the hip but in your natural position, dont charge the hit! Add speed to your jabs; if your tecnique doesnt perfect but you land the jabs faster and your left shoulder and your right hand cover your chin, well, is alright. Straight right -> Dont charge your punches again; your position in boxing its doing for land right hand with more power. More distance with the heavy bag, and you can roll more your fist when throw that punch. Left Hook -> I cant say anything good of that. Bad position of the fist and the entire arm. And again, dont charge your punches. Right Hook -> Like the left hook, but with other mistake: dont raise your elbow, and of course, dont keeping up your elbow. Charging your punches you are saying "look at me, that punch is what I will land". Ok, dont charge your punches, and when you throw a punch, DO IT ALL FAST. You prepare slow all hits and then throw fast. NO. You must throw, dont prepare. And fast, dont say to your rival what is your next movement. Its good for the power roll the fist when you throw the straight right. More distance with the heavy bag, at least for push it softly. The hooks, at least elbow and fist on line, if you go to the head, is better that the elbow be upper than the fist. And dont charge your punches, and dont raise your elbows. Is better practice in shadow boxing, and then in heavy bag. And man, dont slap. Hit like a truck, at least in hooks! Dont do it bad, its fatal for shoulders, hands and wrists!

Back foot does not have to have the heal come up. The weight just needs to be on the ball of the foot. The front foot should also have the weight on the balls of the foot. The weight off of the heels is critical to proper hip rotation without putting stress on the knees. That's why its kind of a big deal. Improper punching can lead to injury. Next important thing to prevent injury is to avoid elbow lock when extending punches.

I am older and not looking to start a boxing career but would really like to train as if I’m going to..basically I’d like to be as ready to box as anyone but unfortunately not actually get to compete..couldn’t hurt to get into shape and learn how to throw bombs. This video seems like a good start. I got that bob thing..the little punch dummy guy, and I don’t have a heavy bag, so I’ll just do this with that. I’ve seen a lot of people on here say that he’s not throwing the punches properly, I mean they look great to me so I’ll try it that way but I’d like to know what he’s doing wrong from somebody that really knows what they’re talking about and not just trolling. Anyway I’m going to give this a whirl, thanks for posting.
