Copper wiring lugs/DIY Terminals for large batteries and wiring terminals. Piece of COPPER TUBING. Use plumbing tool to flare ends so a wire can be easily pushed into the tubing. Hammer flat and DRILL a HOLE to make a lug terminal. No holes pieces make a cable splice connector. Can solder if so desired. Also make a perament JUMPER CABLES connector point to a circuit.

With these new portable quiet generators that are out, why lug around that heavy old generator. Most of those new generators use less then a gallon of gas for 10hrs of use, 1000 -1200 Watts that can run an a/c unit and everything else. they have three year warranty and they costs around $400.00.

G'day, Dan! Nice job! As you were wonderfully showing here, the little bit of resistance in a crusty connection will cause a voltage drop. (of course) Then leading to an alternator not charging. By the way, ride on! That is totally awesome! Your heading to Sandusky, OH!! (it's a home away from home) "Best known today as the home of Cedar Point amusement park, a 364-acre amusement park located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio. Opened in 1870, it is the second-oldest operating amusement park in the United States." Safe travels! Thank you! Cheers! 🚛🛠✌🏼❤️

May make sense to buy one of those rollable solar panels ...for example look up on Amazon : Uni-Solar PVL-136 PowerBond PVL 136 Watt 24 Volt 216-Inch x 15.5-Inch Flexible Solar Panel .... you get up to 136 watts at ~24v ... get a small MPPT charger and fill 1-2 12v batteries either from the solar panel when you unroll it or from your truck's alternator. It's not heavy at 17 pounds, and you can just roll it in a spool, if you need to use it you can just unroll it on the deck ... maybe even top up the batteries while you drive, if you don't use the whole length of the trailer.

Dan I know you are a grown up but please be careful around the pullies on your generator. I thought we were going to see your coveralls get caught in the pullies. It may have just been the angle of the camera but it looked to close. Please tell us how the load going to KY did. I understood why you just used chains because the metal would cut your straps. I am just curious on if you had to adjust the chains much on the trip.

I don't see why you don't get an inverter. 2 8D batteries will run a small house for a weekend. You can isolate them from the truck and have them as your house power.

So far in a year or a little more since he bought the truck with the paccar he hasn't said hardly anything negative about it. He really wanted a Cummins but decided to roll the dice with a paccar engine due to the thousands of more dollars for a Cummins motor in a truck versus what he bought.

Dang. I wonder if the math actually works out for a generator. Between initial purchase, repairs, exct. I wonder if they could do cyclinder deactivation on a straight six like they do on Chevrolet v8s.
@johndonovan70185 жыл бұрын
DOD on chevrolets have ruined many engines. why the fuck do you want that in your commercial truck? research something before you speak of it. not to mention it doesnt really save shit in idle. and yes an apu is well worth it if just to eliminate engine vibrations in the cab completely. its only like 10k installed or less if you do it yourself. in trucking terms, thats NOTHING
