The Couple on "Joy of Trucking" were also saying loads are hard to come by. I totally agree with the "self contained" big sleeper. Peace of mind is the one commodity that's hard to find out on the road. UK/EU truckers are woefully short of this.

Always paperwork, if it’s not paper log books it’s mileage logs or maintenance reports. Sorry to hear about your time out. Hopefully it gets sorted soon

Don’t know if it’s possible with your 5th wheel but I drop the trailer and just slide the 5th well by hand, much easier to line up.

Nothing like starting over again with a new coordinator. Hopefully you got a heads up on that one. Nice informative explanation on the fifth wheel. Paperwork never ends. Spent 34 years in aircraft maintenance. Freight is definitely slow. I watch many other drivers on KZbin. Dry van, end dump, pneumatic, etc. They all say it's slow right now. One trucker I follow the company they work for, dry van, have the 5th wheel permanently set in place. So far hasn't caused any issues.

Boy oh boy what a lot of effort just to move the 5th wheel? I had “Air-Slide”, and just flip a switch, pull the trailer brake handle and drive forward or back up , EZPZ.

He does have a dump valve on the wagon. That buzzing u hear when he makes a sharp turn is him flipping the switch. He installed the buzzer to remind him the air is dumped in the rear axle.
