@@rodolfogonzalez2582 I did a second batch today. It should have been my first batch. Turned out great. I cut the onion into petals instead of rings. Much easier to handle. And powdered them with flour. The batter was thicker and held. I also used a large flat skillet. While the second batch cooked,I ate the first batch. 😁

I'm in 40s and disabled now and you are an inspiration. I've talked to you before but hope to write cookbook, work on genealogy and many things as I can slow 🦥 and steady and with help of family. Maintaining family history, recipes and stories is so important. We used to make onion rings, fries, etc and I did with kids when they were young but want to do again. Moving in to my forever home that was my 😇😇Mom & Dad's and trying to make ADA so on a good day I can try and do a little. Luckily before my full disability I was a kitchen and bath designer and had helped my parents remodel and so some as we helped them in the home during hospice etc. Sorry overshare and a lot but watching you now and felt need to reach out. Hi Granny Pat. It was fun watching you make onion rings. I love them too, and you are right. Good ones are hard to find. May I suggest getting a cooking thermometer for your oil. And I think if you have your onions damp and dredge them in flour first and then into your batter, you may have better luck. The flour sticks to the onions, and the batter sticks to the flour. I've made some darn good ones in the oven, too. I love your videos, Granny! Keep them coming.

Yum! I'll have to try that. I've never made onion rings before.

Your onion rings look so good! 😃 Haven't made homemade onion rings in a long time. I have to drain them well on paper towels or oil upsets my tummy. When you don't have time, we buy some really good onion rings in frozen food section at the grocery store by Alexa. I cook them in air fryer. I use to make my own but just too messy and time consuming.

Hi Granny Pat, those look delicious. I too don’t like it getting dark so early, why can’t they just leave it alone. I have to schedule my Dr. appointments or any other appointments early cause I don’t drive at night.❤❤❤

Any kind of fried onion rang to me is a good onion ring. Maybe use Buttermilk next time & peanut oil it doesn’t splatter great use to fry home fries! just a suggestion I hope you enjoyed them.😋Agree about the time change & getting dark! Hate the short days works on your mental state🥺
