Kim, I have to tell you, I finally feel like I have it together! I’ve been watching your videos for a few months. This one is my favorite. I’ve watched it several times and I created a shopping list based on this video. I went through my closet and pulled out the items I already have and I’ve limited my purchases to the items that were missing. As I upgrade my wardrobe I check off my list. For years I had a closet full of stuff I loved but couldn’t seem to put together and wear. Just adding the pieces you talked about here has made a world of difference. I got the Stylebook app and have created over a hundred different outfits. I have items now to pare with my old cloths. I feel so put together now! I love your style. Thank you so much!

Being a plus size 3x, I really try to follow your wardrobe basics, but tend to gravitate to blacks and greys. I cant wear heels but will now definitely keep an eye out for statement flats! Thanks for sharing.

Videos like these are so important. I have alot of clothes, but they're all standout pieces. I told my roommate,"Dude, I need a plain white long-sleeved shirt." She didn't have one either! I watched some "basics" videos and made a list that included shoes and accessories. I purged my closet and then shopped my closet to see what basics I already had. I went to the thrift store and found the rest! It takes a bit of time doing it that way, but it slows you down and forces you to curate your wardrobe and only get what you really like!

Yes, please, I’m 60, and many things have changed, principally bra-friendly straps on tops are essential (I’m about your bust size, and overall body shape, except for no wide shoulders, Kim XO), fewer tanks (still wear under light sweaters/jackets), more short-sleeve, or flutter-sleeve tops, and more elastic waist bottoms. My hourglass figure became a rectangle during peri-menopause, it’s impossible to get fitted-waist pants/skirts that fit both my thick waist and narrow hips. My legs are still good, but I only wear skirts that are within, say, 2-3 inches above the knee. I always wore mini-skirts, but they don’t look right anymore. Thanks so much!

I like that you are open with this being tips and you embrace what fits you and leave out the rest. Personally I haven’t worn jeans for many years. I wore them occasionally when I was slim but usually I’m all about leggings or pants that are light & soft. Someone saying jeans are really comfortable gets a mental eyeroll from me as jeans always restricted around the tummy so eating a full meal while wearing them is awful as the tummy will try to expand a little and the jeans really won’t agree with it. Anyways, many other good tips about Basics and some I allready own like black-White tops.

Nice video to educate on the basics; I love black and white tees, v-neck tanks, blouses and the LBD, but the cami's and silks are uncomfortable as an older woman, I dont like to show my chest and neck but great for the younger set; I am more casual now and rarely do formal anything now that I'm over 60. I dont like silky clingy or leggings unless you have an absolutely lean figure...just doesnt look good and shows all the lumps and rolls. I dont like blazers anymore, they look frumpy as you get older; I wear short, jean style jackets that are black, dark grey, and greenish brown cotton and find its hip and fresher, with a tee underneath and cotton capri pants in stone, gray, beiges with low healed or wedge sandals look great. You have to find your style that means comfort, fit and chic for you.

Wonder if 'black' and 'white' could be tweaked, or should be (I think that is more high fashion, but you do pull that off-a natural fashionista-a pretty girl). Age could be a determinate, too. Declutter piece by piece . everything you don't feel good in/doesn't fit/ doesn't bring you joy remove it. Gift the unwanted clothes/accessories to a friend, your local Buy Nothing Sell Nothing group or donate to a women's shelter/ thrift store. I only have 5 tees, 4 -8 bottoms and 4 undershirts in my staples for summer . Laundry is simpler and finding clothes to mix and match is easier

I never wear anything sleeveless (cami, Tank top...) with a Blazer or Jacket. I do not want any sweat in my outer layer because the latter are usually harder to clean.

I am a bit of a hippie :) so I really needed this. Thank you so much. When I do dress up I still try to put a bit of bohemian in it but adding my dream catcher silver necklace on . Sometimes I add some cute bangles I got from India but without a necklace. I am trying here 😊. I just don't want to loose too much of my bohemian style too much.
