Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways
In this video we see for the 1st time in 2 years we see Locomotive Services Group's 34046 Braunton's return to the north as he works Saphos Trains's The White Rose from Crewe to York & return outward via Diggle & Saddleworth & return via The Calder Valley.
This was the 1st Braunton had ventured along the main trans pennine passenger route between Manchester & Leeds as the original route The Hope Valley Line was closed due to a landslip.
W start by seeing him climbing through Diggle junction as he climbs to Standage Tunnel working magnificently without assistance from The D05 Preservation Group's 47828 at the rear.
For the return run we see Braunton head through Hebden Bridge surprisingly not much fan fare came out the last time we got Braunton through the station back in 2021 however it was great for us.
We overtake the train at Brewery Junction while Braunton took on water east of Manchester.
We end at Newton-Le-Willows as we see the Braunton pass by as he heads for home back to Crewe were the bulleid would head back to the sheds while diesel traction took the train on wards to Hereford.
Thanks for reading. Enjoy the film.
