34046 Braunton Speeds Through Woking on The Solent & Sarum 13 September 2014

Who ever said Jo Public don't get excited about steam trains especially steam trains at speed. As Braunton raced through Woking at around 75mph, the lady on this video started dancing as Braunton approached and so it proves that it's not just us enthusiasts who think steam trains have the WOW factor!. Even the young ladies at the end were impressed!
I hope you don't think my commentary is too intrusive but I just had to let the passengers know what was about to happen!

Just stumbled across this film. WOW!!! It brings back so many memories when I was a young fellow in the 1950's and stood on that very platform watching the BOURNEMOUTH BELLE power through Woking. The only other Pullman train at that time was the DEVON BELLE, which had an observation car at the back.

I love this video as this is exactly how I feel when I go to see a steam train pass through. I often look more at peoples reactions than I do at the train itself.

The next station on the line, Brookwood is better as it has no platforms adjacent to the fast up and down lines, therefore no speed limit. This same loco hauling the Bournemouth Bell at over 100 MPH was a sight never forgotten.
