I think we need more 3rd party toys in the CHUG scale/pricepoint. Typically all I see is Legends or Masterpiece scale with tons of bells ahd whistles which is all well and good, just not what I collect.

Annoyingly, that ship set sail ages ago when Masterpiece took off. And in an ironic thing, the same thing that happened with third-party mainline before everyone jumped ship to MP is happening all over again with third-party Legends: prices are constantly creeping up higher and higher.

Really is a good figure. Getting the red bits tabbed into the shoulders is a bit trickier and tighter than I'd like and the wheel's not clipping in for vehicle mode is a bit of an oversight but honestly, there are no £35 Transformer figures out there on shelves that feel as good as this. No Voyager or deluxe mainline figure is this well done for that price.

This makes me think of a third party version of Topspin and Twintwist. Thry were called Apex and Geminis, they were deluxe-plus sized, highly posable, looked good, and were 30-35 USD each. I dunno if they are super durable (I think I play gently) but they are so nice for the price. I hope this hsppens more often.

I enjoy the 'coming full circle'-ness of the very first third-party transforming toy was TFC Toys' Roller. I don't even remember how many years ago that was. I know it was a hell of a lot more expensive than this! And about as delicate as transforming a glass spider.

Have you seen the MPH studio one? They've basically made the same thing but in legends scale and with sick trailer, they even gave that repair drone robot mode that looks like ED-209 from robocop

I have the silver and the blue roller and they are both great pieces. Transforming those two thin strips and the muffler? scares me every time, so of course I pop your video on and you just snap that bad boy right in and I have a heart attack . I'll definitely give tfsafari a look, these were my first buy from showz and I was not super happy with tracking. Roll Out! 🙂

i just ordered mine and i’m excited for it to get here. i mostly collect newage and legends scale and started on tfsafari. they were pretty good and my only complaint is that i can get pretty much everything cheaper on showz. though i totally agree, tracking can sometimes be hit or miss with showz

ShowZ is usually best for 3-p because of pricing, and tf safari has consistently stolen fan designs and are generally shady, but yeah, showZ shipping is awful, best way to treat it is basically: “Welp, moneys in the ether now, I’ll see you in 2 months 🤷‍♂️”

with how much of third party stuff comes from overseas in the far east, and given how many companies just pop up from nowhere, theres a strong possibility that the toy is cheap because no budget went to employee compensation or factory upkeep. it wouldn't be the first time that part of the world was responsible for rampant human rights violations

It's a new company trying to make a good impression in the 3rd party community. The only other item they've made was a cannon/ back upgrade for MP-36. If they made this expensive, they wouldn't get good reception from their customers.

My best guess on why it's so cheap is because the factories they used are likely sweatshops or use child/cheap labor. That's how a lot of stuff on Temu are dirty cheap.

Something that might be of interest: ShowZ is selling this thing in the *4th-party* section and not the 3rd party section. Thats the KO section. The original backplate and gun kit for mp megatron from all the way back by black mamba also mentioned "modfans" on the box. So they might have something to do with black mamba?

Ya think it's because it's not a recognizable character? Like, they obviously don't license any of this out, but maybe they charge more when it's a character that they think has more demand. BaiWei Lemon Tree Optimus KO is the best ROTB Prime I own so I’d recommend that over any Ss102 KO
