The shoe drawers. I had 1 short one and 1 tall one. I had a very tiny studio and instead of shoes I had mine in the hallway that led to my closet and I put socks, undies, bras and things that didn’t need to be folded nicely. I had a lot of nylons and dressy socks because I worked in an office so utilizing those instead of a regular dresser helped me so much. I didn’t have enough space for more than one dresser so those were perfect for the slim space I had. They have changed the style a bit since then, this was mid 2000s but they’re available on Amazon as well.

My husband was complaining about all the dresser drawers a few weeks ago when we went to ikea. We have IKEA dressers that are over 10 years old and the ones they sell now are the same name and style but he noticed the drawers aren’t opening all the way like ours. I thought maybe it was the store ones so people don’t pull them be he said he looked and it’s not like an extra screw stopping it. I think maybe it’s to prevent tipping as the older ones tip easily but it does seem annoying when you’re trying to get your stuff from the back.

My mother in law had her dresser in the living room because her bedroom was so small. They only had a double bed and it took up most of the space! She kept her clothes on one side and she kept linens(tablecloths, towels, sheets) in the other. It functioned so well for them and when it was decorated on the top and with a mirror over it in the wall, I didn’t notice that it was a dresser.
