One of the reasons why I like these videos is you get right to it. No lingering around with lengthy introductions. Thanks Kiva you have good videos.

Nurse here That laptop stand reminds me of a hospital bed table Lol. But it actually looks like it'd be great to use as extra workspace in a small apartment kitchen. Thank you so much for the tour, it saves me going there and emptying my wallet as usual Lol.🥰

Same friend, same. Except the Ikea one looks like it actually goes up and down SMOOTHLY 😬😫 🙃. Having flashbacks to drinks or basins flying off due to mid up/down turbulence 😭.

Great video! Just a reminder that Scandi style isn't only about gray. Its roots lie in the colorful and practical 'Allmoge' (rural) style, which prioritized functionality and used paint and patterns for decoration. This style then evolved to be more minimalistic and lighter. The Swedish artist Carl Larsson's paintings perfectly capture this vibrant decoration style, which also includes furniture that can be stacked and easily moved to create more space if needed. Allmoge is a great inspiration for those who want to create warm, inviting, and personalized Scandi spaces that break from the traditional norm

I ordered a few things from IKEA online this spring during their free shipping period. I got Dajlien “valet” and at first I was surprised about how much space it took, but it doesn’t look imposing at all and it helps a lot (I don’t let the clothes pile on though). From that same collection I also have the step stool that is made for workouts, but I also use it as a step tool in my closet as I can’t reach the shelves 😭. It looks so elegant and blends right in. I hope ikea keeps making nice workout equipment bc I’ve been forever waiting for stuff like that. Again from the same collection I got the rolling cart (with the wooden legs), not for its intended purpose of storing workout tools, but to keep my cleaning tools (vacuum and vacuum parts, dusters, etc) in one place and be able to move all of them with me from room to room. Or even keep it in the room until later, if I don’t have time to finish cleaning and the good thing is that it’s not the worst eyesore. The wheels could use some improvement but overall I am happy with those pieces.

I love ikea, but some of the prices on their cheaply-made particle board furniture had me shaking my head! The whole point of that type of furniture, back in the day, was to combine functionality and style with an economical price. $500-$700 would only be a good deal for a SOLID wood table, for example. Not one that I have to build myself that will fall apart if I have to move houses even once. It’s weird, because some of their pieces are still a great value, but the prices of others seem almost delusional! IKEA is getting too big for its britches!

Agreed. Their prices and ingenuity with some of their pieces were what put them on the map. Now there are so many pieces that are as much as anywhere else. Some of them ridiculously overpriced…they really should remember..and stay in their lane!

I have 4 types of Hauga dressers and the most expensive was the 6 drawer at 180 at the time. These price jumps are insane. My 6 ft glass display case was $60 2 years ago… $150 now. I’m in need of quite a few items to get my office and basement together finally, and it’s looking like I’ll be doing that 1 item at a time 😂 I would give anything for the pre/early pandemic prices to be back. Have you included the drawer/cabinet RFID lock in any of your videos? It’s my most used non-furniture IKEA item and it’s an awesome little gadget that gave me a lot more privacy. Comes with 2 swipe cards and runs on standard batteries. Was $20 a couple years back so I’m sure it’s a bit more now, but worth every cent.

Kiva, do you get frustrated by the lack of some products at Pittsburgh? I’ve heard the excuse that the store is smaller and on the surface, that makes sense but then I wonder why we yinzers can choose to buy every possible variation and color of Poang chair. It’s hard to believe we want to buy Poang chairs above everything else. Do we buy Poang because we’re more obsessed with them than say, Newark? Or does ikea Pittsburgh sell more of them because they take up so much inventory space that there’s no room for any of the other furniture? It feels like a marketing fail. Like a MAJOR marketing fail. Thoughts?

Airfare fdrom Lisbon to New York City is $475 round trip! Kids under 2 fly free. Some of your viewers could hook you up with free place to stay. I can get you a week at a condo for $200. You can see NYC, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington DC on one trip. All are driveable. Europeans get 30 days vacation right? You could do all these cities in 3 weeks and have a week left for Texas. Airfare to Texas from east coast is around $300 round tripp. Rental car has one way drop off fees and gas plus insurance..which is your biggest expense. Start saving.

Colours.....you are showing your age here.....look back at Scandinavia design from the 50-60-70ties and you will find that they bad periods of vivid bright bold designs, (Marimekko was famous for this and is still around). as well as trends with the earthy tones with texture and Japanese inspired minimalist designs. IOW Scandinavian design is not limited to the narrow reinterpretation of the last decade, be it from Ikea or others.
