The best Grand Theft Auto V Challenge Is Back! Continuing to answer the question of “How many people you personally have to waste to complete Grand Theft Auto 5” (with a bit of comedy thrown in). ‘Can You Complete GTA 5 Without Wasting Anyone? (or Pacifist%) also counts as a melee only challenge as the end result will show how many you must melee to get to the end. This is of course very different from my old speedruns of the game but my knowledge in that area does help me sometimes. I hope you enjoy it.
Rules:
- No personally ending anyone unless I must.
- If I have to do so, I must do so with melee.
- If I can't melee, I use my weakest weapon.
- No armour unless I can't progress.
- Mission must be completed without mods.

Matt, on 1:03:37 something you mentioned about the enemies' guns being silent. This is actually a byproduct of being inside a mission for a very long time (accounting for the game being on Idle, and frequent minimizing/maximizing). Assuming that going through this particular shootout alone took more or less than 8 hours, there is no doubt that you'll get that bug. On some cases, the mission fail SFX would even fail to load in.

When a person throws a punch, unless they have gotten a serious running start, they do not go nearly that far. Hell anyone with half a brain and some experience in fighting knows putting your entire body behind a punch is almost never a good idea. From a physics standpoint, yes that sort of punch is throwable and it would cause that, but practically it makes 0 sense that these career criminals fight using the most impractical and ineffective methods of attack.

About a week ago I told a friend of mine that watches you, but never watched pacifist. He told me that watching a full gta v playthrough where you just don't kill people is dumb and not funny and that there was no reason to do it, I told him that not only the edit in every episode is amazing, and im not aure it worked but I tried to explain him why it wasn't a dumb thing to do, I used an example of things he likes to do, and explained that for you it was a huge deal, cause not only you're proving that article from the 752 kills or something, and when I beat a level in a game that took me 1h or 2h I feel extremly happy, so I can only imagine how amazing it must be to complete this missions after so much effort in it, and alsp even though it takes you a long time, time that you could be doing other projects, I think you like to edit (at least a little bit ;)) also because you love to bring the best possible content to your awsome viewers. Really loved this episode and all the others, I really love criminal documentaries, and the crazy ideas that the detectives and even the criminals have, and the thing I most love in this series is the crazy plans you have to prevent killing people (the bridge strat in Derailed was just amazing). Continue the amazing work, you're amazing.

@@ensiemen9836 linear gameplay with insanely restrictive scripting should not be defended. Rockstar is notorious for doing this with their newer titles, specifically RDR2. For an open world game, the missions and their structures are so rigid that you simply cannot ever experiment without getting a mission fail. You MUST follow the exact things that the game is telling you. It's simply boring and restrictive mission design. Walking 5 meters away from your allies shouldn't mission fail you, ever.

Sometimes I long for the days of my childhood, though I'm not sure if that's misguided nostalgia or things genuinely were better when I was more naive and innocent. But it's interesting, accusing someone of being a young dumb kid seems to get under people's skin like nothing else. 9 times out of 10 they respond like you did, by throwing the condescension right back. I didn't really mean it as an insult, I just find Matt's meme editing a bit cringe and like it's intended for a younger audience. It feels like a shit imitation of Internet Historian, and he's not the only one by a long stretch. I think the absolute best parts of these videos are his summarising commentary combined with the footage of him testing stuff on Twitch. The jokes do nothing for me and are kind of lame and irritating.

I love the way, you can see him go absolutely fucking nuts the longer way into the video. In the beginning he is just patient. In the end he runs in circles whilst making weird ass sounds and washing himself and shit lol. Love this video

I don't know if you followed this on twitch as well, but just try and imagine actually waiting for a whole hour doing basically nothing, with your anxiety rising because you could mission fail at random so easily... I totally get why he was going crazy towards the end, I would've given up waaay sooner! Loved the video as well

It's a good question he brings up in the intro to the video: Given the length of time it's taking to upload this whole series, have more people died in the audience waiting for it to come out than Matt has killed in the course of this run? It's worth considering.

Pacifist% has truely peaked, not only is this the longest episode, but the best episode of the series thus far!👍👏 It was great watching through this and reliving a lot of what I had saw live at the time back when this was originally being recorded, what with ALL the trial & error process throughout too reach that end goal, and just the sheer impressive amount of dedication put into making this an epic series, along with all the entertainment you've brought to it personally and through additional jokes/memes etc too!😂 Will certainly look forward to seeing the rest as I always have done from the start, and certainly appreciate the great lengths, time & effort that goes into producing each video/episode from countless hours of recording that went into the playthrough itself!🤯

You.have been very entertaining the past 5 nights doing back to back binge watching you become the ultimate pacifist at times I felt like fast forwarding but then I realised you had put Sooooo much effort into making this and editing it down it almost felt insulting to fast forward and potentially miss some rather nail biting moments, I'm half tempted to rewatch and work out how many deaths, how many swear words and how many distorted "WHATSSS!!!"
