350z 5th bow motor location and service on eBay review

Thanks for the video... This helped me get the top back to 100% operation. Besides 5th bow motor the other problems I had were: - Brake switch. If this is intermittent then the stop will stop opening or lowering at random times. - Replace elastic straps. I don't our car had a problem with the straps, but the available replacement kits online are pretty easy to put on. - Some of the support struts inside got loose. One even came off. Putting them back in place fixed a major issue too.

My buddy and I replaced the 5th Bow motor (about 1&1/2hours) and this corrected most of the opening and closing issues. However, since the top has not been opened for at least a year, it would stick here and there. We continued to open and close it, helping it manually (like when the blue lid would stick 2/3 open) and also pushing down on the roof as it was trying to find its' home. I also lubricated a few places and this helped, But, it still is not functioning properly, so I am going to give the lube some time to do its' job and try again. Is there a test to determine if the brake switch is functioning properly or should I just buy one and install it? I welcome anyone who has additional suggestions. Almost forgot, the video was priceless in tackling this job. Thank you.

I’m working on my top two as well but you’re gonna need a new or pressure sensor as well

I used the Ebay service to rebuild my motor and it worked great. Now I am having trouble. It opens about halfway, then I have to keep bumping the button to get it to open all the way. Don't know if the motor needs replacing again or it is something else, like the elastic bands they sell for $40. Any help would be appreciated. Actually, before I sent my motor in for repair, I called around to car electrical shops and they told me it cannot be rebuilt. Apparently, they do not know what they are talking about as the guy on eBay did it. lol

Hi, i have an issue when I want to switch from roof open to close. The part with the window stay vertical and I have to push it a little bit to launch the movement... then it go down and it is locked. Is it your case? Thx

@@jonathanbrown4961 i sold the car last year but for 2 years i just used regular bungee with the hooks that you can fit in the hole, i bought a variety pack from walmart/home depot and it did the trick

Need the 5th motor repaired bro. send it in. Mine did the same and i replaced it with a used one and it worked like magic.
