You beauty! I followed your detailed video, which was a life saver! Was really clear and got a chick, I’m a bit dumb when it comes to remembering how to put things back together. Not too sure if it was the teeth that had slipped or if it was the ball to the side as mine was a bit out of shape, but I put it back together and closed my trunk! It WORKED! Lol I was so stoked I screamed and gave my son a heart attack! Thank you so so much. This was a life saver much appreciated!

I had the exact same issue , I swapped the black rubber balls & issue was fixed. I didn’t remove all the gears after I noticed the ball was jacked up . Thanks dude 🤘🏽

Just wanted to say thanks for this video. You just saved me $200+ from having to buy a new one of these. Mine as exactly like yours. Same ball on the top was worn out and the same tooth was broken. Worked perfectly and now the hatch is popping again.

it’s just like every other interior nissan peice. cheap plastic body clips around the edges, just gotta pull slow especially because there is the hatch light with wiring attached on the plastic trim you pull off

I hear the part is only $45, I think I am goign to just get a new one, my trunk is doing this exact thing, it wont latch shut, I was hoping to find a simple fix but it seems like you took the whole thing apart and I am not sure what was broken or fixed to make it work right.

Did you connect plug? And you may be able to release/unlock using the pull-cord located in the back cargo area near the rear strut bar. You may have to Google it because I don't remember exactly where that cord is located.

The pull-cord is indeed located underneath the rear strut bar. Just have to work your body in between the driver and passenger seats, reach towards the back, and you'll see the pull-cord underneath the rear strut bar, right under the "Z" logo that's on the rear bar. Hope this helps. Good luck.
