While both techniques work on this 5400D, keep in mind you may only have one option on other similar lock boxes.
If there's a lock you would like me to feature on this channel, please send it in or tell me about it and I will do my best to acquire one.
Thank you..

Great video 👍 I've been opening these locks a few years now and until today I've always used the old method of feeler gauge in the side of wheel and wait for the drop,NO MORE my friend, rotating the numbers and finding the notch is way faster and deadly accurate... Many thanks, Robbie from Huyton Liverpool UK...

Thank you, kind sir. This is the very best video on how to break into a Master lockbox. The 2nd way is so unbelievably easy as no one but you tells you to feel for the notch as you turn the number wheel. Cracked it in minutes with your method and wasted hours watching and trying the other KZbinr's methods. Many thanks again 🙏

I was getting all frustrated before i opened your video. But cant imagine yanking the box off the wall. Imagine the mess itd create on the wall. I was ready to order a new box but thought 2boxes one on top of the other on the same space will be such an eyesore. Until i opened your video. Whilst still watching it back i went to my box and did your suggestion turning each at each button while running the tool down felt it dip into the gait or dent you talked about. Many years ago I had bought a Master Lock 5401D to mount a secure place on the outside of my house for a spare key. Later, I went to mount it and had forgotten the combination. I bought another and mounted it the same day. On the original 5401D, I tried guessing the number a few times, and I thought I had even tried every number once. I was unable to open the original 5401D. I saw your methods and tried the second one using a homemade knife tool and was able to open the original lock. Many Thanks, Scott from Georgia, US

I used to rekey locks on (175) town homes I maintained with a Kwickset lock key, "Set", in the square black metal box, unavailable now maybe,. Awesome! I just picked my two locks using a shard of aluminum can with the 2nd method. Seller left the locks on my new house and never came back for them. Ended up cutting the first one off with a Dremel. Tried to pick the 2nd lock while on the door and couldn’t do it. Great video. Unfortunaly the better the video is, the worse the lock is, as far as security goes. And this video made this lockbox basically worthless. Lol. Yeah. Theres another way still. Using the orange blade (or a 3/16 slice of venitian blind) insert on the bottom left side of each wheel one at a time to where the blade tip passes the wheel. You shouldn't have to push or pry up. Just let the blade touch the bottom of the wheel. Spin the wheel slowly until the blade drops. It might drop on two consecutive numbers (3,4 or 0,1 for example) wether you choose the high or low doesnt matter but choose the same to the other wheels. If, for example the numbers end up being 1,2 3,4, and it doesnt open spin them to 2,3,4,5. If it still doesn't open, spin them to 0,1,2,3. And keep going each wheel one notch up until it opens. 1234 or 2345 or 3456, etc. But I'll tell you something. As easy as it was to pick, I really dont think I would use it. One of the easiest locks I've ever picked. Doesnt leave a very secure feeling.

@@AlbertLebel I typically have 2 or so peterson or sparrows mini’s in my kit all the time. But I have to open combo padlocks on a regular basis. But I get in a hurry and snap the mini’s off right at the handle. I got to be to pricy for me breaking one every other day. Thats when I started thinking outside the box and found that the stainless steel zip ties or almost exactly the same thickness. So now I keep a couple knives made with Stainless steel zip tie blade and plastic zip tie handles. For me the home made mini’s last around 10 to 20 openings vs 1 or 2 for the peterson. The sparrows mini knife lasts me about as long as the zip ties.
