-36° FREEZING, FROSTY, FRIGID TENT

When it's this cold, everything freezes. I had a hard time getting my tent up to temperature when I first arrived. I let the temps get down to -10 overnight inside the tent, and everything was frozen when I woke up. Veggies, oil, cords, water ... even my honey bucket. But I was so warm in my big puffy sleeping bag. I had 2 steak sandwiches and I visited my other tent and fixed it. The snow crushed the tent, but I didn't know that the tent came with a centre pole if needed.
this was a really good night in the tent. Lots of Northern lights and cool tricks to show how cold it really was out there.

I watch your videos, and can’t help remember one where you were talking about how jealous you are of a friend of yours. His cabin in the woods and how it’s everything you want to have. Meanwhile, city boys like me are just jealous of the fact you can even go to a place that’s as isolated. Be by yourself and disconnect from the digital world frequently. I’m insanely jealous of your spot in the trees, and wish you nothing but the best going forward.

Yeah, i couldn't make it in the City, we had to stay in a city for ONE week and we couldn't take it haha just a few things of many, it's way too loud with the traffic, sirens and car horns, you actually have lines in stores where you have to wait awhile (that is rare in the country) and you can't be too loud after a certain time. That would drive me insane staying any more than a week.

I do not even live in the City, just in a tiny village but unfortunately my Country doesn't even has any Forrest.. For me to go out into a little bit of a forrest I have to go to a different Country and drive for hours on end. And I am big enough to say I too am jealous to even have a place to go and see nobody, but absolutely nobody.. I cannot even imagine this, silly isn't it?

Been to the Rock on numerous occasions Jay. Never Labrador. Made it to L’Anse aux Meadows where the Vikings lived so I’ve been close. Out of a half dozen trips I have gone on motorcycle 3 times, twice alone. Have made a few trips as far away as you can get on NFLD from Labrador, visiting a friend on Fogo Island. She’s a great spot buddy. Love the rock and I’m sure I’d love Labrador!

I very much appreciate your videos and do watch to the end and am a subscriber. I don't like the cold but love the thought, as a New Englander, of a cozy get away. We have snow here. I live on the Charles River and that's my view. It is precious to me. I love cuddling up in my home (alone although would be nice to share) and enjoying the precious coziness, quiet, and animal along the river. Soon, the ducks and their friends will be coming out but first we have a snowstorm. The food you eat reminds me of Ukrainian cooking my mother and grandmother used to do. I would have a cholesterol of 400 if I hate what you did but I love watching you. You do however work it off which I would not. Enjoy it all. Thank you for sharing. Enjoy your friends in Labrador.

When my 4 kids were youngsters, he spent 2 full days constructing one of those big aluminium (yeeeah, I know - aluminum lol) climbing frames (even had a slide into a paddling pool). My mum said he was so proud of himself when he had finished.....until he discovered that he had built it upside down. All the best from the UK!

Love your videos Jay! The northern lights were amazing! My Dad and brother were big outdoorsmen. They had many adventures together hunting, fishing, and competitive shooting. In the 1970’s, my brother and his friends built a cabin together several hours from our house. We often went to the cabin together in the summer with our whole family. It’s one of my most favorite memories with my brother. Your videos take me back to those wonderful moments. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures!!

Brother spend the money and get an eco fan or two for that woodstove....It will definitly help heat that space quicker and keep a more even heat through out the tent. I didnt beieve it till I put one on mine. Great video and I too love the cold weather camps!

Dropped in again after a while because I enjoy your relaxed personality reflecting in your videos. I would really love to have a location like yours somewhere in Germany. Still hope you work on your wood chopping skills, it would come in handy even if you are afraid to hurt yourself. In the video with the partner of your mother you used a huge splitting axe. Maybe you should utilize something similar, the long handle will help you to stay safe and not hit your legs with it

Glad to see you're still getting a great winter up that way. It's been so warm in Ontario many lakes and rivers haven't frozen this year, snow cover is record low in a lot of places, great lakes are basically ice free. It hasn't felt like winter, and I couldn't go frozen-lake camping this year like I wanted to! No safe ice :(

Meals were the huge bass & pickerel Dad brought back after a day on the lake 🛶🎣, fried in butter 🧈in the stone fireplace. Now I live in a dysfunctional, depressing LTC home where my husband died a cruel death from Parkinson's & dementia last May. Just hate it here. I'm healthy enough to live back in the community but this place has used up all our savings. My OAP won't even rent a decent room now. I've asked to be moved to Toronto to get away from all the bad memories but because I'm classified as 'independent' I'm at the bottom of the wait list, so between 2 & 4 years (8 years for my 1st choice). 🤔What happened to our health care 🩺system? But many here are much worse off than me. I keep busy, subscribe to some KZbin 💻 channels, exercise 🚶👟, read 📚, listen to music 🎹🎻🎵on my Alexa, sketch 🖍a little, & help out with the 'sundowners' who are lost in dementia & wander the halls all night long. They're heartbreaking but can also be sweet & funny. I've come to love ❤them. I'm even learning to speak a little Tagalog because most of the kind, hard-working PSWs here are from the Philippines. And they say learning a new language is the best way to delay dementia 😵‍💫! Stay well 🙋!
